I found a ppfd to dli calculater and input 450 ppfd at 18 hrs and it came to 29.16 dli

Photone should just convert straight to DLI for you. It’s the most accurate thing you’re gonna get. But 29 DLI should be good. As you said above, it was likely higher than that before so no wonder. Good move raising the lights more.

Hope not. I give my girls 25-30 DLI from the moment the seedling dome comes off. But I also don’t do kid gloves - either my plants can handle my abuse or they can’t. So far, 100% of the time they can - those are good odds for me. I’ve lost a few sprouts but once I just straight forgot to water it and the other two seemed sort of doomed from the onset - almost like rotted cotyledons straight out of the shell.

:v: no worries at all. If I do, don’t hesitate to say so. I never mean any offense but I also know it’s weird to communicate thru text - sometimes stuff sounds harsh when it isn’t meant that way.

Yes sir that’s the goal. I’ll be watching along the way and if you bump into stuff I don’t know, I’ll tag in someone who does.

As far as watering goes, I’d start reducing how frequently you water to only when the pot is dry/light. Testing by weight is the best way to know it’s watering time. Should feel real close to the same as a container full of just dry soil when you go to water. And when you water, fully saturate the soil til you get a bit of water runoff. :+1:

Thank u again for ur advice…what did u mean by u dont use kid gloves? Is that what i was doing with the cylindrical lights? I assumed at such a young age it would b benificial. But needless to say, ive been wrong before

I don’t treat my plants differently from when they get their first set of leaves til they get harvested. Lots of growers like to put a humidity dome on their seedlings, don’t start training til a specific node, only remove certain leaves at certain times, and so on. I made a million mistakes on my first grow, including snapping off the top half of my plant and taping it back together. I learned through all that, these plants are resilient and we have no real reason to baby them through infancy til the “true veg” phase. Nature doesn’t.

No those lights were supplemental, which still probably isn’t a bad thing at all. As she bushes out more, you may find those small supplemental bulbs to be quite helpful for lower growth that the upper lights can’t reach.

You are doing much better than I . Here are mine but the small ones are about a week from planting the sprouts- and the large ones are at about 2 weeks. I now have them under veg. LEDs . The domes are on there for temperature control since they are located in a cool basement. They also increase the humidity.

I initially placed them under CFLs when they 1st sprouted and then when the 1st leaves showed up I transferred them to the LED lights. I think you are growing at a warmer average temperature than I . I dont get much above 75 degrees and in 6 hours of dark they go down to about 68 degrees…

I am still hanging in there with 8 of 10 seeds looking like they may establish. 2 seeds germinated but never popped up above the soil. I will repot 3 times before the flowering cycle.

I am happy at this stage of the game. I think we all have different materials and methods (circumstances)to work with. I try not to overthink and there is lots of good info in this forum to draw on… I am looking for the most simple methods with the best results possible without making too much of a science of it.

As stated above, there is more than one way to produce killer bud but we each have our own in the end.

So glad I found this forum

Here are the 8 seedlings at 2 to 3 weeks from sprouting.

they are now all under the LEDs in vegetation light…

I get it…i went thru all that with my outdoor grow this past summr…plucking leaves, stress bends and fimming almost every branch, etc…i learned alot of what not to do when it comes to outdoor growing…this indoor is a whole nothr thing tho and im learnin as i go…thankfully i have u guys to help me thru it.

I think urs look good for 2-3 weeks old meatface…my tent gets down into the mid to lowr 60’s at night when everything shuts off…i personally think the coolness is good for em in limited amounts…in theory it should help them to produce more oils and thc as they kinda go into a defensive mode.
This morning i set my lights at exactly 24" at 75% and now my par/ppfd is set to 440-460 and dli is now set at 26 to 28 over top of each canopy(according to photone). Hopefully that will help to stretch em out a little. All 4 are goldleaf so i assume they are sposed to be a little larger than most other strains…overall im happy with where they are at except for the node spacing.

Hey @meatface I have to ask, any relation to Tazerface? Lol

Sry…:joy:

Everyone’s plants are looking great! This is also my first time growing and at first I babied the hell out of her, checking at least a dozen times a day, etc. Once I started to LST her she took the abuse and sprung right back, so haven’t babied her sense. I still peek into the tent a few times a day, but now I’m only adjusting my wires and such every other day or so.

No relation that I am aware of (ha)… Here are mine - I put them under a 400 watt MH (HID) and am about to turn them loose of their green houses. I will leave them on the heat mat for a while.

So far, so good I figure.

I have the MH bulb down to 250 watts for a while before I turn it up full blast. I dont want to burn these little babies… they seem a little “pale”. I may add a little nitrogen to the water but will see how they behave under this light change first.
