Well off into my new grow season. I wanted to do an experiment, with 3 plants one pot. One plant didn’t make it. I dropped something on it. So I will do 2 plants one pot! A lot of people are saying a lot. But I like to experiment. So far they are growing as one split but uniformed.
How big Is the pot?
I Plan to do the same thing in a 30 gallons pot
I did a 10 gal deep. I only wish I had started it in a 10 gal fabric pot. I only had one of those potato bag. It’s designed to hold moisture, I didn’t realize this until after the first water. If you do try it you wouldn’t need a 30 gal unless you plan to space them. If that’s the case you might as well use two pots. I want the two plants to grow as one, so their root system is one and the are growing identical, taking up the same amount of nutrients. The point of it being tall is to pull the roors down chasing the moisture. If the pot is shallow it dries out quicker and the root goes wider and thinner in search of moisture. The pot isn’t bad actually, but the fact that i drenched it was the mistake. I over watered and it took forever to drain. Thank god i used a potato bag as the sides lift up and helped to dry. So think deep and not wide for this. The bag is almost 2 feet tall. Once I learned to water only 4 cups every 3 to 4 days it’s been doing great. The uniformity of the tw are amazing, even after LST.
Oh and yes I organic grow. I don’t think this would work as well needing to feed every water. I do believe they would fight over nutrients. But I like this potato bag, forget what I said about wanting a fabric pot. I pulled the side up and you can even see the water layers… Takes the guess work out of it!
So the weirdest thing is I’ve only watered this plant once and that was 5-6 weeks ago. Plant is doing great and the soil stays at a constant moisture. Like I said before, I grow organic so I haven’t had to feed and plant is thriving. I am just going to flip to flower and see what happens. But there is no sign of root rot leave are a solid green with a hin of purple. I’m excited, I’ve never grown in a 10 gal tall and yes I over watered the first time and tried to let it dry but it never did. But if this works OMG talk abot saving on time. I will top dress with slow release and do a light water in 2 weeks. If this works wow.
Can you toss up a photo?
How are they looking? Can you share some pics?
Fresh pictures. Even included a picture of the opening where you are supposed to remove the potatoes. Yes it was a pot originally designed to grow potatoes.
There are four plants per pot in this grow. Not the largest due to a super duper late start. But when broken down to the fundamentals the plants love it.
The roots grow together acting as little nutrients highways. Helping one another along the way.
Nice. What I have been most impressed with is both plants grow exactly the same. It’s weird.
Also jealous on my end. I wish I could grow a quarter of what you are growing.
wow I wish
In the other tent I got the three regular grows looking good all in 1 week of flower. Runtz, Gold Leaf, and Durban Poison
I still consider myself to be a rookie as I started my very first grow a year ago. I have amazed myself on how far I have come with my grows mostly in part to YouTube and chat venues such as this. But in that short time I really have learned a lot and also experienced a lot of things I read about before it happened. I am currently on my 4th grow since that time and aside from autos being unpredictable I have had a lot of fun. Today I was looking at my most current grow that I recently flipped to flower and it put a smile on my face, as I noticed the difference from previous flower stages. I will say the last grow I SCROGGED this time I did topping from week 3 of veg and LST, I feel that this process is by far the best and I am amazed at the eveness that it produced without forcing a net on top. A lot of words to say that but hey! I added in a couple of pictures. These plants will have beast for buds. Will start feeding Big bud l, and Bud candy this week to pack on the weight along with ILGM Nuts.
I still want to know how. I have only watered the 2 plants in one twice, the first time I planted it, still seeds and I watered a little when I flipped to flower 3 weeks ago. It’s doing great better that a lot of plants I have grown. Weird.
Loving that weekly progression! The flower are nice and the bids after one week has doubled in size and I have done absolutely nothing but change the lights 3 weeks ago. No watering or anything. I am so amazed. If someone would have told me this was possible I would have laughed in their face. The remainder of the moisture that was at the bottom is being pulled up. If this plant makes it through without having to be watered all the way to the end. Every grow going forward will be to this standard.
I always like to showoff my other tent, even though this post is supposed to be about my 2-in-1. But I can’t help it they so pretty, and this is the first time I actually got a gold leaf seed to pop. I got a 10 pack and this was my 4th try. It’s the plant on ths left. The flowers are almost like a Gelato, very moist and thick. ILGM this is your baby, so I can’t wait to see how it turns out. Right is runtz and back is Durban poison.
