I have had a ton of luck recently with FF ocean forest 50% and 50% Coco. Man, no nutrients for 1st couple of weeks then start Lotus series. I’m telling you, at least for myself, I believe I have found my sweet spot. If you got an extra seed or so give a try!!! It’s super easy draining, easy to control your nutrition by simply following labeled use, add a little cal mag now and again and let those babies grow for themselves. I have had to move my lights several times in last grows more than normal, the girls been growing into them faster than expected.
Since you’re using 50% cocoa should the pH still be 6.5? I do autoflowers, what are you pH your water at?. Thank you for the suggestion info ![]()
I don’t even check, lol. Last time I checked it was at 7. I use tap water, set it out 24 hours and use a bubbler. When I first checked my tap water is was at 44ppm. But I had an extremely bad chlorine smell, so I started the 24 hour hold and then added the stone bubbler. I can make perfect water for the cost of the bubbler($12 on Amazon and it’s a double)and maybe 3¢ in water
They look great to me. I grow in coco/perlite and water +nutes daily when they get this size. I use 5ml/gallon of calmag throughout the grow. On week 5 I start using the ACI self watering bases and stop feeding from the top. Good results this way on my first grow.
Thank you, I have the self watering bases too. I may need to ramp up cal mag a bit more I just went from 1 ml/g to 2.
Well I think jumping to 5ml/gal on cal mag pissed the girls off they’re dark and drooping a bit how should I water next? Drop dosage or plain water? Or leave them alone I’m panicking too much?
Im new as well but seems fine to me. They sometimes do that after watering. A pro will tell you for sure here shortly. Happy growing!!
I keep overthinking evry move I make, lol. So far so good with the help of everone here. Awesome community
I feel a lot more confident and comfortable now. Almost 4 weeks down!!
Thank you, hopefully it’s short term and maybe just over did it jumping from 2ml to 5 so quickly.
I watered them with some plain distilled water and 4 hours later when the lights came on they looked better than ever.
Looks good to me nice and green just how it is supposed to be.
The one on the bottom picture the leaf was dangling into the coco. After I fed distilled water they perked up the next day once the lights came back on but then later on in the day they were droopy again especially The one on the bottom pic. I had my lights set to 40 DLI so I backed them up from 40% intensity to 30% and they seem to look a little bit better today but still some slight droopiness. However they grew a lot since last night despite looking a lil droopy so I’m just going to do what I’m doing until they look bad I guess. Fed them the five mil calmag and slight nute mix again. I do notice the ends of some of the leaves have a very slight grayish blue tint to them mainly the plant in the bottom pic.
Thats is too much light fot that small of plant. 40 dli is 600 par. I run my small plants between 200 and 300 par. Then crank up lights gradually as the weeks go by. About the 4th week i am around 40 dli.
They still look pretty healthy and should be good.
They look good and they will “weep” after being watered. Usually they bounce back after half a day but really you want to wait till the next day to gauge the true reaction.
If they droop later in the day usually they’ve reached their max light intake are heading to dreamland when you see them like that. Decrease DLI
I am seeing green algae on the top layer and from what I’m reading I am definitely overfeeding so I’m going to give them a break today and see how they do. I cleaned out the bases and all pH and PPM EC etc looked great. The pots are very heavy though so I can tell they are soaked. I haven’t watered them since last night around 8 or 9 and typically I would have already watered them again today so definitely going to cut back and see how they act because now all three of the full-sized ones are showing those symptoms to different degrees. Bluish gray color at leaf tips and drooping. They are still growing a lot from what I can tell I’m just hoping they shouldn’t be growing more but hopefully this break is what they need. Thanks for everyone’s help I really appreciate you.
Still growing good but still sagging. Pots were definitely a lot drier today. When I watered them it took a lot more than it usually does to get run off. I’ve been using the pH drops but I’m going to invest in an Apera 20 to get a more accurate reading and make sure I’m staying in the ideal range. Also noticed that my plants are starting to taco so I raised the light about 4 in and drop the power down from 30 to 20%.
Are you watering daily?
If you are, stop. Thats why they are still wilting. They need to dry before you water again. I water mine every 3 to 4 days. Usually takes about 3 days to dry out and I will feed/water to run off only then. The top layer may look really dry but you can use your finger to check. Put your finger in the soil to about half way, maybe an inch or so, if your finger comes out dry and clean you’re ready to feed. If the soil feels moist and sticks to your finger then you should wait. Hope this helps!! ![]()
