Thanks @blackthumbbetty appreciate the reply
There’s dosage info, too.
There’s a lot of different ways to make eatables personally I don’t care for using straight plant matter don’t like the taste. Cooking it down has to strong of a odor and a lot of work de carbing is smelly enough for me. I use the magic butter machine 2 hrs it’s done with little to no odor…That’s just me I think dosage is trial and error not all weed is created equal.
Job well done! And that’s the great thing about this place, no one gets tired of questions. People are here to help and enjoy seeing you learn and prosper.
If you have an instapot, Black Thumb Betty has a great process. Super easy. I’ve made chocolates and brownies using the ghee infused with trim.
- Lightly grind the herb, divide it evenly between 2 pint mason jars, add melted ghee, stir & crunchit thoroughly, then put lids on just slightly looser than if you were canning something.
- Place trivet or towel on bottom of pressure cooker, then place jars on top, and fill cooker with h20 until halfway up jars.
- Pressure cook for 50 mins & allow for another 10 minutes cool down.
- Strain. This might take some effort. I strained via wringing through a cheesecloth for a good 20 minutes.
- Ready to use.
Guess I should have kept reading. She covered it!
If you have popcorn buds from the center of the plant separate those from sugar leaves ,you can use The popcorn buds to make oil or butter for cooking and you can use the sugar leaves to make bubble hash .if it were me I would dry everything. I have never used a press So I don’t know the procedure for that. Could someone tell me if you press it when it’s green or after it dries, as I have never researched it.
I also use a magical butter machine, in the paperwork that comes with it the recipe book says a quarter to half ounce of leaf or Bud matter per cup of oil or butter. I use a half ounce of bud per cup of Refined coconut oil .The advantage of refine coconut oil Is no tast,It can be kept in a cabinet not the refrigerator, and you can use it to cook almost anything it does replace butter.I use it to make gummy’s I like them strong and can take them anywhere and eat them anytime.
Yep, @blackthumbbetty jumped right in to help out. I knew the info was was available I was jumping around threads trying to find it. Worst part about that is I got her cannakitchen thread set to watch.
I’m 35 years behind the curve trying to catch up.
For traditional infusions, I use an oz of bud per ½ cup of oil.
Extractions, in my opinion, are much easier to dose, more potent, and more economical.
Thanks, @blackthumbbetty I appreciate the help. Going to start with what seems the easiest and work my way up.
@blackthumbbetty thanks for all your help and the quick response
