They don’t move much they move kind of slow and that one just sat there chilling. Let me kill it pretty easy. I also have been seeing the occasional fungus nat. Or that’s what I thought they were. Now I’m thinking maybe the winged bugs I has been seeing are winged aphids idk.

Maybe I’ll grab some neem oil and those sticky traps. Hopefully I can manage this and make it to harvest. Son of a bitch

@growdoc @Hopalong @d-Jawz good morning, hopefully I’m not bugging anyone. Hey do any of you guys have advice for dealing with my pest problem? Tiny white bugs crawling on my leaves. Hopefully the pics in my last post are clear enough. I’ve been smashing the ones I’ve seen. I’ve heard about sticky traps, diatomaceous earth, and neem oil. Are these my only options? How would you guys proceed?

I’m no expert so I can just try to remember others’ advices… 9ne thing that might help would maybe be to keep the top soil dry so they don’t have a good breeding ground. A wick watering system?

I think the neem oil used properly is one of the most popular tactic I think.

If you go for the neem oil as foliar spray please wait for instructions from more experienced growers as my foliar spray experiments have only backfired because of lack of knowlege on strenght, wetting agent etc..

@Hopalong thank you for your input. I’m just keeping my eyes open right now and trying to smash them when I see them. I feel like they have to be coming from the soil. I’m definitely going to give it a better dry back then I have been doing. I’ve only seen like 7ish of them since noticing last night. But from what I’ve read they can multiple very quickly.

That they do. I had an infestation on the summer on a couple of plants and it took only a couple of days for them to cover almost the whole top part of an almost chop ready plant.

If you want them gone, Jacks Deadbug sprayed every 3 days for 2 weeks will kill them all. Just do a bud wash if sprayed in flower. Better to wipe them out before they get a hold!

So here is at least some good news. I think these little bastards came in on the kale and pansy plant my wife bought from a nearby store. I inspected the kale plant and it definitely had a higher abundance of more mature looking aphids. I threw both of those plants away. Maybe I can keep a sharp eye on my plants and prevent them from taking hold now that those are gone. I’ve learned a valuable lesson. No plants from outside in my garden. I told her if we want to grow other things in here we should start from seed in sterile soil.

I feel like there has to have been some eggs laid on my plants though because I am seeing the occasional tiny one still. Just killed two more on the very top new growth of my young plant

Or well actually what I’ve read is they give birth to live young so the eggs thing maybe isn’t right. I’m gonna monitor them and see what happens. I’m seriously debating just killing these off and starting over when we move in a couple weeks. I would really hate to transfer these into a new grow space.

Try out the neem out and stickys. Should take care of them
Also some.other good advise on here for ya. Personally neem always worked for me indoors and out.

The older plant is 28 days old today. If you scroll up you can see it’s got pistils. I’ll probably try a light feeding of bloom nutes for the first time when I water it in a couple days.

Just venting some frustration here. Yesterday I didn’t see any more bugs all day. But then this morning I saw a couple more. I feel like they have to be in the soil then crawling up onto the plant. Unless they’re just hiding really well on the plants leaves. I scouted pretty good yesterday so it’s discouraging thinking I got them all but then seeing them again.

I would not personal give it bloom nuts now. Keep up with your veg feeding till 2 weeks after flower starts then hit with bloom.
Did you get some neem oil yet? If not get some. Them little suckers hide under leaves and under branches. You will never see them all. Got to kill em.

@NewGrower31 I’ve only dealt with a pest infestation once. It was spider mites that were intoduced to my grow tent from a couple canabis clones from a dispensary. I used the neem oil, put some diatamacious earth in the soil (works on eggs but you say no eggs with aphids), and Jack’s Dead Bug. I think it was the Jack’s that worked in the end. Good stuff.
(Note: I didn’t do a bud wash and I’m still alive :joy: :joy: but i wouldnt recommend this to my friends. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:)

I have murdered my plants and will be starting over. Thank you all for following along. Apologies for any disappointments.

OMG! I think they were salvagable. Treating a bug infestation is doable and many growers have made it to a successful harvest afterwards.

Well be sure to give everything a thorough cleaning and give it another go then
I’ll be eagerly looking for your posts. :victory_hand:

What a bummer man, sorry to hear. At least that makes your move easier and you can start fresh at the new place. Good luck.

@Smoke_bz hey thank you for that reply. It definitely made the move easier and for anyone interested. We’re back baby

Just checked and I have a sprout. I uncovered the coco on top of it. Hopefully it stands up and and looks pretty by morning. There was disturbance in the coco on the other one too so hopefully that will go good. I’m trying 100% coco this time just for shits and giggles. I also have a spinach seed germinating so that’s cool. I’m gonna try some kratky hydroponics for that once it gets established.
