I would wait, your canopy isn’t thick enough to block air or light. Keep leaves as long as possible, they are the solar panels for energy.

I agree. No reason to take leaves now. Wait until the stretch is over and strip the bottom as it won’t produce much. Then remove old fans that are yellowing.
