Can someone explain what is runoff lol wouldn’t you only get runoff if your watering to much or is everyone talking bout when you flush the plant I’m confused on this
@Newb1 run off is when you do over water purposefully, you’ll take the run off and check to make sure the PH is with in guidelines, and to check PPM/EC (electrical conductivity)
Thanks how old should they be and how often should that be done
That’s an excellent question. When your plant is big enough you want to do a thorough watering, which means soaking the soil well until you get water running out the bottom. It is indeed, a type of overwatering, but after that you let the plant dry out well, so there’s no harm done.
Thank you now I got it lol
You can start watering to runoff when the plant is big enough that it will drink all that water. You would never do it to a seedling. And you do this every time you water.
How old should the plants be or how do u know when u should take the domes off the plants
As soon as they look sturdy enough and have about two nodes, or real leaves you can take the dome off.
The 1st one is bout the smallest 2nd 1 is 1 of the bigger 1 what u think leave dome on or ready to come off
Ok, I think i would give them a few hours of air, but still keep the dome on for a few hours and see how they do. They still prefer that high humidity at this stage. They look great though, good job!
So I went took a look at my plants plants today and this is what I seen ph is high 7.5 yellow spots and new growth is looking purplish haven’t used any nutrients and have only been watering with 6.3 to 6.6 ph water
How often are you checking your meters or are they new I’m only asking in case it needs to be calibrate that is a massive swing. If it is a deficiency I would think it would be something like a nitrogen deficiency just purely by the yellowing of the leaves but I would definitely calibrate your pH metre.@Newb1
@raustin any opinions here for our fellow grower mate.
It is new only bout a week old I did calibrate it when I first got it was thinking the same thing about the nitrogen anything I could give to them at a young age and can I use aluminum sulfate on the soil
I have never used it I know that it can be used for lowering Ph both I think you will be better looking to get some Ph down and if you do not have some on hand maybe some citric acid will help @Countryboyjvd1971 @garrigan62 @latewood any opinions folk’s .
