She’s 10 days from sprout and started dropping yesterday after I watered her. I used FFOF and perlite and my tent stays at 70-75 deg 40% RH. I have not used any nutes yet. Any advice?
How much water and was that pic just after lights on or watering? Young seedlings don’t need a lot of water, overwatering at this stage can dampen off the root and drown/kill it. From ground breaking to around 12-14 days seedling absorb moisture through their leaves feeding the plant and growing the tap root. I keep mine covered with a clear dome to create condensation inside for them to absorb and water a small ring around the outside of the cup. That’ll get the roots spreading out searching for the water creating a nice start of the root structure.
Looking ok, she’ll perk up
How much water
I’ve had seedlings with chronic droop before. They usually grow out of it.
That said, the most common cause of drooping is over or under watering. Seedlings need very little water. A couple of ml a day at that stage is fine.
@MidwestGuy gotcha covered on watering amounts
One is lights on the other is lights off. I probably over watered. It’s still heavy a day later.
Here you are able to see where I watered with this seedling, when I transplanted the roots were wrapping around the outside of the soil.
Hope the picture helps. I used a 1 tbsp measuring spoon to water for the first week after I took my dome off and then went to a normal watering cycle.
@Richdawg85 - The 40% RH is probably what’s got them drooping. Shot for more towards a RH of 70%-80% in seedling stage, 65-75% in the vegetative stage, and 52-62% in the flower stage. This may vary due to strain, but for the most part, if you’re in those ranges everything should stay well off. Happy cultivating!!!
Yes raise the humidity, when small they get water through leaves tell roots are more developed, also like mentioned above a clear dome, I use a gallon water jug just cut and make it one size, poke a few holes, can’t beat it. Good luck
