It would not have turned out well. At all.

Here’s my take on it. If you start a fem seed in a big pot it will, but not always spend more time putting down roots then it will growing above ground, at first. This is fine growing outside but inside if you are stressed for time and need to flip the lights you might not have as much above ground growth to work with. It might catch up anyway, but not always. Cannabis is a weed it doesn’t follow the same rules as tomatoes. Ive planted seeds directly in the ground and started in solo cups the ones directly planted always lagged behind the others but sometimes caught up eventually, but im not flipping any lights outside. They have the whole season to catch up.

Ive never had a feminized plant get stunted that I know of, by transplanting and I rarely ever have a plant get transplant shock, and that’s usually cuz I didn’t let the roots get established and it fell apart during transplant. Solo cups are perfect for starting seeds. Once theirs enough roots to hold the soil together all you have to do is turn the cup upside down and the whole thing comes out. I put it in a hole the same size as the solo cup. I put mycorrhizae on the roots and in the hole then drop it in. If done correctly new growth is vigorous and immediate. I use clear solo cups inside of red ones. I can inspect root zone by removing the red cup. That way I know when its ready to transplant.

Great plan! I use a bic lighter and melt drain holes in the splo cup edge… once the roots start poking out the holes… its game on

I use a soldering iron to melt holes in the cups, lots of holes in both the clear and red cups. If you zoom in you can see them

My Dilemma

••Wall of text incoming••

So i have 6 plants going in a 4x4 tent (it’ll be a tight fit but we’ll make it work), with 2 Vivosun VSA200SE 200w lamps.

before its brought up, i have a third light if necessary

I have 1 girl, my GSC who has gone into veg within the last few days.

The issue: I really need to set my lights to VEG to push this girl to the next stage however the other 5 girls arent there just yet - id say maybe another week, probably? Maybe less?

(With the exception of the BB who only is just now showing signs of her first, 3-finger leaves)

Should i just wait it out until everyone is in VEG to set these lights OR should i go ahead and set the lights now despite the progress of everyone else?

I appreciate everyone’s feedback. :black_heart:

Should be good for veg think once they get their first 3 finger leafs they considerd in veg but maybe some others will chime in just my thoughts :+1::+1:

Also if you set the smaller ones on the outer perimeter she will get a lower ppfd from the light :+1::+1:

It won’t hurt anything to wait for the other plants.

Very nice! I like yer style :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Here’s some babies pre greenhouse! This was in my other grow room, which is no longer in service due to my wife lol. That’s actual garden soil with a tad of perlite in it. Not ideal… but it worked well enough to get em out the door.
