Young autoflower problems

I just am noticing that the plant is trying to get wavy leaves around the edges and a lil dis color in it . I am just giving ph water to it right now for the first 30-32 days , what could possibly be going wrong ?

Ocean forest is pretty hot with nutes. As long as your watering properly it will be fine. It’s not good though for leaves laying on top of the soil. If it was me I would rake back a little soil if you can so the plant isn’t laying on it. Good luck with your grow. Keep us posted how your doing

Thanks for the info , will keep everyone up to date on her .

Ocean Forest by itself is not recommended for seedlings. Ocean Forest is very hot for such a young struggling plant.

I’ve seen many people in this forum burn their seedlings up when using ocean forest alone during the seedling stage

This is the 4th grow in ocean forest and never had an issue with it till this go around for some reason . I’ve always just got the soil ph right and popped a seed in , watered good and let her go . Use a lil glass bowl for a dome . Idk :man_shrugging: what would you recommend instead ? Thanks

Anytime iv ever seen my seedling do that is because the light intensity is a little high for a young plant and humidity is low.

A plant that small will struggle to get enough water through its roots.

If you’re starting in the final part you could always mix in some Happy frog at the top. It’s definitely less hot than ocean Forest. I’ve seen some people have good success but I’ve seen more that had bad with just using ocean Forest.

A lot of people mix them 50/50 as well with ocean forest and Happy frog.

Those numbers aren’t bad
Maybe it’s time to no longer dome them?
They will grow out of it but being autos it may affect their final size being slowed down
What is the measured light intensity on them?
Photone app for phone is cheap to free and will give you a better idea what they are getting.
You want to be around 150 PPFD or so at this stage of growth.
As they get further into veg you’ll want to either let them grow up into more PPFD and or lower the light.
A couple pics for reference

Hope this helps

Mix just a top layer or mix the whole pot ?

Not sure on the ppfd I dont have a meter but I am using a s44 full spectrum led board light from ac infinity . If I’m not mistaken it’s a 400 watt light .

Found the light specs.
At this stage and I’m guessing here based on ac web site specs on that light you want to be around 24” above plant at around 30% power or so.
Again without some sort of measuring device it’s hard to say proper power/height.

If you have a phone go to your app repository for that phone and look up the Photone app and install it. Free to install and on my iPhone using the app with the PPFD setting and a piece of copy paper taped over the front camera it was not too far off from my other par light meter. So you can pretty easily get that app and check with it for free other than the time to download and install and cut some paper and some tape and some time to figure out how to use it.

Thanks bud for the info I’m gonna check into all of it

It does.
Thank you for sharing it.

Fond of using the UT383-BT lux measuring device found internet.
Android app didnt work with this user.
The UT383-BT device confirms manufactures specs, or not.
Kil-A-Watt device used for secondary (or third) confirmation of output utilized.

I’ve read that for the majority of people put the hot stuff on the bottom and the Happy frog on top. This way it’s not getting the hotter nutrients right away

And the top will not be so wet, causing damp-off issues.
I mix FFOF/FFHF/ and Warrior Seedling for a lighter mix.
I over water, always.
