Yet another auto acting like a photoperiod

Hey everyone! So, I’ve got this autoflowering six shooter from Fast Buds. It’s been 38 days since germination, and it seems like she’s not quite ready to kick off flowering yet. I’ve noticed some pistils appearing on the bud sites about a week ago, but no significant flowering action yet. The plant looks healthy overall, but I’m starting to wonder if it might be a photoperiod strain instead. Should I make the switch to a 12/12 light cycle? What’s your take on this?

Autos generally flower in 4 to 7 weeks, though we have seen a few take as long as 12 weeks. It’s not surprising at all to see one not flowering at 5 and a half weeks.

You’ll get more yield as a benefit from vegging longer. Try 12/12 if you want to force her to flower.

Thanks! I think I’ll wait another week or so.

Looks like it’s starting to flower, positive signs at this point

Autos are gonna do own their thing. They can take a couple weeks to start flower and I’ve seen some go months before even beginning to start. Ask @Lostgirl about her latest auto… but I’d say just let her keep going. 12/12 most likely won’t do anything to change her mind. Autos gonna do what an autos gonna do.

I just planted some Fastbuds to try and they started flower after around 2 weeks from sprout. From what I’ve seen of their stuff it’s solid genetics for sure. Just let her grow and enjoy the higher yield from a few extra weeks of veg.

Thanks, guys! Yeah, I’ve read a few threads here discussing autos taking their time to flower. If I recall correctly, @Lostgirl mentioned her auto started flowering at 12th week, lol. But then again, some folks here suggested switching to a 12/12 light cycle. So, I guess I’ll just wait and hope it flowers sooner or later.

That last photo - she is starting to flower I think

Do not switch to 12/12. She is clearly in flower. Hints the pistils on the bud sites. Very nice looking plant btw

Wow, thanks a lot! Really appreciate it! Do you think it’s time to start using bloom nutrients? Currently, I’m sticking to the doses recommended for the ‘preflowering’ stage in this feeding schedule. Also, my 1st grow lol

I probably smoked too much but that probe or whatever looks like the plants wearing a mic lolol

Good day everyone. After thoroughly looking through your attached pictures above I might see one maybe even two pistols. Pistols are commonly mistaken for new growth and vice versa. A few days will always tell the tale.

Nevertheless, when I see a pistol (she’s starting to flower). Sure going 5 6 weeks not seeing any indication of flower are growing instincts kicking the full force and we start thinking so many negative things asking suggestions and start fiddling with the girls.

420 fast buds seems to have a very small percentage of autoflowers that take longer and vegetation. I’m growing one right now that spent 12 weeks in veg before she popped a single pistol.

Your plants look tremendous at this point you’re doing a wonderful job. There’s truly one way to fix your issue and that’s leave her Be to do her thing. When we start fiddling, changing lights, flipping light cycles, and all the other things we do to try to fix this we’re truly only creating unnecessary stress for the girl and the girls around her.

You have my word she’s going to flower. Patience and continued love is what she truly needs from you. Her Ruderalis genetics are not going to react whatsoever to 12/12 flip. It may even deprive the rest of the tent of their much-needed light if doing so.

Continue feeding her, and keeping the proper dialed in environment is all she needs. This is purely a genetic issue with her Ruderalis contribution to the plant.

It’ll be a relief to you once you see her start to flower. I would like to point out potentially once she starts flowering you have not seen the end of slow progression. My delayed 12-week girl in vegetation is still growing she’s going into her 13th week of flower with no clear sight of finishing anytime soon.

I just wanted to make you aware of that. She’s totally happy, she’s totally healthy, and she’s going to produce an enormous amount of good quality product for you at the end. That statement was a quote from Enzo himself at 420 Fastbuds.

As growers these things are difficult but patience is all she’s asking for. She’s going to do just fine.

Autos can take 10-14 weeks. And they can grow a lot in another 9 weeks. I would let her grow on 18/6. I’ve grown autos start to finish on 24 straight before. But after learning what I had read wasn’t the best idea I changed to 18/6 to let the girls rest. You have a awesome grow so stay with what your doing. Happy Growing my friend

Hey there! Thank you so much for your detailed and uplifting response! I can only imagine the patience you must have had waiting to see that single pistol lol. And wow, your plant looks truly impressive now. It’s definitely worth all that patience!

This strain doesn’t rush. I had one take 6 weeks and another take 7 weeks before going into flower. She is going to want some room to grow. This strain isn’t a small one  I got twins from mine and split it into 2 plants. What nutrients are you using. The 3 parts looks similar to the GH nutes.

Yeah, according to Fast Buds, it can reach up to 150cm in height. Not so small for sure.

GH nutes

yep, it’s basically the same as GHE, just rebranded as ‘Terra Aquatica’ for the European market, I suppose, or something like that.

If youre going to start bloom nutes, start at half strength and see how she does. Autos are finicky sometimes with nutes and most of the time with full strength youre wasting nutes. Sorta like the warnings you see on cleaners. Test in a small area to check for reactiveness 1:rofl::rofl::rofl:

This is my feed chart I use. I feed on the light side. But heavier than what your chart seems to show. I am in pre flower right now. And feeding # 5 on the chart. Come thursday I will go to #6 Then go to #10 for flower
