Yellowing Leaves :(

My plants are yellowing and I don’t know why… New grower here (houseplant enthusiast, figured I’d try cannabis!). Using Grower’s Choice ROI-E60S LED lights, 18 hours on, 6 off. Average temp 75F, average humidity 65%. These are 3.5 week old clones, received at 2 weeks old, fed with nutrients for the first time on 1/30, using General Hydroponics. Soil still wet, didn’t plan on feeding again until they dried out some. They were happy the first week, now they look sad, droopy and now yellowing. Any and all help appreciated, I’m new to the lingo of you experienced folks so you may have to spell it out for me lol, thanks!

Welcome @Nev444 to the community.
I see you have a nice setup. I’d say move you tent fan down to canopy level. Up top your just moving the hot air around and you just want hot air to rise and get moved out of your tent.
Do you use any root stimulator? Try something like Hydroguard or Rapid Root to get your roots happy. Make sure you have a humidifier during clinging stage. Until you they get good roots you may be stressing the leaves due to lack of water. Run your lights on medium power until they get to going.
You look like you have some nice parts in place.
Here’s some how to for you to consider.

Thank you so much for your reply! I will move the fan and see if the products you mentioned can help. I’m concerned I may have over-watered them tbh  Is it necessary to mist the leaves? I do use a humidifier, though it sometimes pushes it to 90%, so I unplug and it goes back to around 65% (no happy medium really). Just trying to work out the kinks. Thanks again!

Welcome to the happy place. Do u have a dehumidifier? that rh is pretty high. They could have been too wet. Cannabis likes to dry out and then get watered. Hope they perk up for you soon.

Your welcome @Nev444 do you have an exhaust fan that brings fresh air into your tent? If not that could cause humidity to build up inside the the tent.
Fresh air is essential to a happy grow.

If you can turned down the humidifier or use a timer to cycle it off at night and throughout the day until plants get bigger.

Monitor the Vapor Pressure Deficit during all stages of growth. Keeping them within proper range encourages vigorous growth.

All top growth looks good, looks like it’s the older leaves that got scavenged during the root development stage.

That’s what I initially thought was happening, then it appeared to be moving towards the upper leaves and got me scrambling to fix it lol. I HOPE that’s what’s happening!

Will be setting up the exhaust in the AM, for sure! Great idea re: putting the humidifier on a timer and thank you for the VPD link! I will get these guys together one way or another, so appreciate it!

I don’t have a dehumidifier (just a humidifier and fans going) and I was super worried I may have been keeping them too wet… I’m using a coco/perlite mixture so I expected it to dry out faster than it is, last watered on Sunday and they’re still pretty wet today.

Looks like classic signs of overwatering. Let them dry out some, cannabis likes wet/dry cycles.

Not at all, water about a cup and a half of water in a circle around the plants once they dry out some.

90% is high, if your humidity stays at 65% then keep it there without the humidifier. Only use it if it drops below 50% ish.

What soil are you using? Some are pre-loaded with nutrients so you don’t need to use anything for 4-6 weeks. I prefer coco. It basically removes the chance of overwatering and is not pre-loaded with anything so you can feed from the start. I’m not familiar with General Hydro Nutrients but I’d go lighter on the dosage until they get bigger. Get a cheap TDS meter off amazon and test your water runoff after you water again. To get runoff, simply water alittle more until it runs out the bottom of the pot. Not a whole lot, maybe a 1/4 cup. Post the numbers and we’ll get you squared away.

Make sure you are checking for bugs… anytime you take a clone in you risk bringing in bugs. Be vigilant spraying weekly just in case.

Looks to be a PH issue to me :joy:

All the leaves that were clipped will yellow and fall. I would worry on new growth. If vibrant and strong coming out roots growing. I just yank all the leaves i clipped at this point. Old bottom also. Just me. I have new clones going all the time. Not all make it but yours will. They are revegging. Do not need to be soaked yet. Just what works for me.

I was thinking they are over-watered as well. The soil takes quite a bit of time to dry out, it’s still moist to the touch even today (2/4). I’m using a 70% coco 30% perlite mix, so no nutrients. We did a super low dose of the general hydroponics, thinking of adding Great White at the next feeding to help out these roots! I did check the PH of my water, it was high, 7.0 so I got some PH down to add to it. I don’t want to water them now though because the soil is still moist… what do I do? Just wait until they dry out some more and hope they’ll be ok until then? I did pinch all of the yellowing leaves that were ready to fall off. The clones are in rockwool if that means anything. Exhaust fan is finally in, hoping that helps with circulation. Humidity is maintaining a 65%, temp 77. Thanks so much for your help!

Ya let her dry out a bit, best way is to feel the pot weight and stick a finger down to the knuckles to gauge wetness. You are essentially in coco, so it will dry out quicker than soil. PH to 5.8-6.0 and you’ll be good. You can start or continue nutrients as you wish, as coco is a neutral medium. Don’t feel hesitant to pull off yellow, dying leaves. They are goners anyways. Temps look good. She’ll bounce back, just get your PH under control and feed them as needed.
