I certainly don’t view you differently. I can say however @JediCreator that my family isn’t anything like the overall respect and friendliness here. 
They’d all get vacations… and warnings… and bootings. Not that it makes me love them any less dearly.

And thus is one of the drawbacks of written words. Without facial expressions, tone of voice and actually knowing the personality of the writer, words alone can be taken totally wrong. What I may intend as a lighthearted joke may be read as a sarcastic insult.

I agree, when I worked as a Physician, I had someone demand from me to " Treat me like you would your family"
I replied , “I’m sorry I cant”. They got very upset and replied, “You won’t treat me like your own family?”
I said, “No sir, I’ll treat you better, I don’t like all my family”
