Yellow Wilting Leaves

Plants are about 4-5 weeks old. Growing indoors under multi spectrum light. Plants are starting to wilt w/ leaves turning a light yellow. Growing in miracle grow seed soil. Younger plants ~2 weeks old are doing great.

To much water?
Need nutrients? Nitrogen?

Any info will be appreciated.

Hello AF,

Here’s a couple of pics.

Plants are autoflower, Granddaddy Purple.

The plants in the back row and middle row (left 3) are about 3-4 weeks in pots. The others are <2 weeks and are OK at this point. The initial group is still in Miracle Grow soil for seedlings, while the second batch is Miracle Grow for plants.

Light is a multi spectrum 100W LED that is on for about 13hrs. It’s positioned ~12" from the tallest plant.

My initial assessment is I may be overwatering and lack of N.

I plan to keep 3 and move them outdoors and plant in the ground. But the temp still is dropping to mid-high 40’s at night, daytime is ~70F and see a couple 80F days in the future. Any recommendations on when it’s safe to plant in-ground?

I don’t have the room to transfer into larger containers at this time (if I want to keep under grow light), but thinking I may repot the original group into the Miracle Grow “plant” soil. This will allow me to assess the roots and provide a lil more N.

Thoughts?

Looking forward to your feedback and THANKS for the quick response.

Looks to me like they need bigger pots. Definitely needs some water with nutes now.

Miracle Grow and cannabis don’t always get along. Suggest transplanting them into a soil that is pH buffered for cannabis such as a Fox Farm soil, Roots Organics, Stonington, Black Magic,… Stay away from any soil that says, “time release nutrients” or “feeds for x months” or “moisture control.”

You don’t need nutrients at this point as they are probably being burned by the nutrients in the MG. The problem with MG is that it has time release nutrient pellets that submarine your pH and nuke your plant with nitrogen every time you water.

Here are a few examples of victims of MG:

Do you plan on moving those outside? Lighting is going to be a problem for you if not.

All great info!!! I’ll snag some of the recommended soil.

Yes, I plan on moving outside but concerned w/ temps at night in the mid/high 40F range. Highs now are ~70F. Do you think it’s OK to stick them in the ground?

Appreciate all your input!!!
