So I’m still confused
what is organic soil?
I read everything on their site
"3rd parties advertise it as “organic” (see amazon)
There is no “synthetic” or mineral based ingredients.
All there sales pitch stuff about being a container soil doesn’t tell me anything about whats in it
Or did i miss something?
If i use happy frog soil and used their organic happy frog nutrients in a container inside.
What would make it not technology organic?
I genuinely want to know because i have been under the impression happy frog was their organic line
I was too, but there (used to be) a disclaimer on the ingredients that said something along the lines of product may contain ingredients that are not organic.
I think it’s much of a muchness myself but folks wanting true organic may not want to use it in lieu of a product that is specifically formulated to be organic.
I may be behind the times though so might just see what the package says. Their formula could be different now.
I believe you are correct, it cant be guaranteed looks like so bureaucracy prevents foxfarm from saying its organic or not for marketing
I emailed them asking if it is and what makes it technically not make the grade if not.
Could be just counterfeit foxfarm but there is happy frog with same packaging but labeled natural and organic rather then fox farm
But who knows really, i use salts myself.
I am still genuinely intrigued, I’m amused with the “organics fad” so I hope they respond…
That’s just it I thought happy frog was a living soul.

The back of bag at the very bottom talks about “contents and levels of metals”.
I’d about bet there is or has been traces of heavy metals in testing it and that would make it technically “not organic”.
Plants are still growing, although the older leaves have now grown more of these yellow spots in the edges. My plants are about 4 weeks old, one is is Happy frog soil and the other is in a soil called “full circle” (it’s a local soil I had ran out of FFHF soil and they didn’t sell it.) I water them every 2-3 days. They been doing well overall except for the yellow spots. Could this be a potassium deficiency? I tried doing a bit of digging online but I don’t want to jump to conclusions. Should I be worried ?
@Dave101 The first 3 pics are in a 7 gallon vessel and the other is in 10 gallon. The 10 gallon one is the one that’s actually doing better (it’s also the one that has the FFHF soil so maybe that’s why). But I don’t believe I give them too much water when I do water them but idk
If you feel your giving them the right amount of water, than your all good. Every time I see a big pot with a small plant I get worried, I just wanted to make sure you were aware.
I use 15 gallon fabric pots with 0 issues. But the key is experience and I have 4yrs 1 month under my belt. Thus I know exactly how much to give. Experience is the key.
It was all a learning curve for most of us. Gotta love the growing pains in the beginning.
I use 10g fabric pots and only water around the edges so the roots have to search for it… they are 3weeks old and doin well I’ve only watered them 3 times so far…
I merged your other topic covering the same thing. Best to confine to one location if at all possible. This helps you find and document your grow history as well as not taking up too many topic lines for others.
