A question from a fellow grower:
I currently have 2 pretty much mature plants left. They are being grown outdoors in largish pots facing north in a wind protected position. Remember that I am in Australia & we are now at the end of Summer. I germinated the seeds in early November I think.
The plants are starting to change & I suspect that this is them growing the heads. Quite a lot of the non producing leaves are turning yellow & then dying & falling off. I have attached a couple of photos for you to have a look at. Is the leaves changing colour to yellow considered normal ?

To answer your question about leaves turning yellow as the plant heads towards peak maturity, yes.
As the plant draws the stored sugars etc. from the leaves…
To say that this is what you are experiencing would be hard to say with the limited info…
I am not saying it is your pot size…
I am not saying it is your nutes…
From what I can see; You are right on track. As plants mature they used stored nutrients and this yellows leaves and is a sign that you are entering the finishing phase ofr flowering. Let this take a natural course, and watch your trichomes in order to determine when to harvest. 
ok, I know I got shot in my eye, but sure seems as though those buds still have some growing to do before they enter the final phase of budding. (the swell)
I sure hope that I have not been doing things wrong all this time, I grow 12 plants (legal) at all times and mine go to the chopping block looking healthy and green.
Yellowing leaves is normal for many plants towards the end of flowering. It might have some to do with how aggressive of a flush you do before harvest or how you feed it towards the end. So plants that go the chopping block that still have all green leaves is not necessarily a bad thing either. There are many ways to get the job done, most people just like reducing the nutrients in the plant’s tissues through various practices, like flushing, towards the end which will cause the plant to used stored nutrients from the large fan leaves resulting in them yellowing and falling off.

I just thru that in because if you look at the bud sites they have some time till they is ripe, and the guy even says he thinks they are starting to grow heads (buds in real speak)

I told you I am here to have fun, learn and get to know other growers from other places. But in the same light to help people with my 40 plus years of being pot gardener. I don’t get around people because of my blindness and the pity people cast on me, but here no one can tell I’m blind, the doctor at the VA recomended me to socialize this way, online, so I thought it might as well be around subject I can relate to and enjoy

Relax, no one specifically said this plant is at its very end of flowering. Latewood did say keep an eye in the trichomes. All I see is the normal “self-pruning” many plants will do later in the grow to the lower leaves or leaves that are deeper in the foliage and don’t get as much light. Latewood and I are just saying everything looks like it is progressing as it should. BTW, Latewood also has vision problems and maybe can’t see the detail of the top cola which as you have pointed out looks like it is far from finished and will proceed with a lot of swelling. It seems you came with an attitude more so than anybody here is trying to give you attitude.

I have over 100,000 followers from around the world with more than 95% being collage grads, so it is not my opinion. I do apologize for !@#$ing around with you, It is just that you were the only one around, and your panties are showing dude.
No one said chop this plant down now, and like I said, Latewood had said keep an eye on the trichomes and I never said ignore the trichomes and cut the plant down now. The whole post is as a whole and is not to be taken out of context. I’m starting to seriously doubt you have much a fan following with your attitude, maybe you should keep it on facebook, you might be talking to people over your head, but they are certainly not over my head and have nothing to do with what I or this site does. You are the one who came here trying to give everybody a hard time, like you are the end all answer to everything. Get over yourself. SMH. Nothing in your repost of what I said is showing anything else than what I’ve said, yellowing leaves is normal in many situations, especially towards the end of the grow. And even more so during the end of flowering. I never said the plant in the picture is in its absolute last stages of flowering, get a grip. It sounds like you have your panties in a twist more than I’m worried about any part of my panties showing, lol.
Guys, thanks for the very helpful & useful advice. I’ve never grown plants before so this is a real Virgin experiment for me. It’s amazing to see the plants change. I think the advice that the plant is automatically putting it’s energies into the heads whilst the heads look green & full sounds right . The whole plants are covered in heads.i will now need to go back to the grow bible to determine when the best time to harvest is. We are going overseas in 4 weeks & it would be great if I could do it before then as in the alternative I will need to set up a water timer.
