Hello I’m new to growing and new to this site. Seems like a very friendly place. This is my first grow. I need help diagnosing exactly what’s going on. There are little yellow spots on my plant leaves. They are both 24 days old. Im not sure if these are mites, fungus, or calcium deficiency. I made the mistake of planting in pots that are too big they are 15 gal and I did over water. I have a hydrometer temp stays at between 72 and 83 degrees. I also bought a 4 in 1 soil test meter that tells me soil temp around 69 to 74 degrees, soil pH is a 7 and the light intensity meter says I’m in normal lighting range. Thanks for anything that might be able to help me.

Are u using cal/mag i believe that u have the start of a calcium deficiency a small amount of cal/mag in ph water should do the trick

You can never plant in to big a planter. What is your growing medium?

I tend to agree. For some reason calmag works miracles…:). Those starter leaves you can remove. The pot too big? Only if grow area too small. Ill put pics of a 20gal and 3 gal. clones. Difference in plant size is very evident. Can soak that cloth pot to runoff. I usually soakem good then letem go a few days. Once big they tell you when. Look healthy. Huggem/squeezem and callem George. Sorry saturday morning cartoons.

I’m using fox farm ocean Forrest soil. You all are awesome thanks for responding so fast. I’m going to get some cal mag and a fungicide this evening I have seen small amounts white cotton like or hairy fungus on the soil after they’ve been in the dark. I treated with a hydrogen peroxide solution seems to kind of keep it at Bay but I’m still afraid of root problems as well.

I would also kinda suggest no nutes at all besides the calmag right now. That soil should have plenty in it for a while.

Thank you for the advice! I have another question about watering. Should I be watering until runoff in a 15 gal pot while my plants are so small or should I keep watering only as far as the circumference of the leaves? I had only been watering about 3/4 of a 16 oz bottle every other day. I have total scared dad syndrome now that plants have a problem.
I have an issue with with brown and yellow developing spots on leaves. My plants are in 15 gal pots. After chatting on the site I’m fairly confident it’s calcium deficiency. But after reading I’m not sure if I’ve over or under watered. I’ve only watered as far as the leaves stretch but have never watered to the point of run off yet. Hey y’all thank you so much for the help. I’m posting to let you all know what the reason was for the spots on my plants. It turns out it was the onset of root rot from standing water in my pots along with to much light intensity. It does look a lot like cal deficiency but when I compared symptoms I decided it was more of a root initiated disease. I made this assumption based on the dark green leaves and curling that is associated with magnesium toxicity. But the spots and leaf tip yellowing helped me decided to treat the root problem first then I think I’ll address a calcium deficiency if symptoms continue. But because the rapid deterioration slowed when I turned down the lights made me decide to treat the roots first. I did the s with hydrogaurd I will keep you posted thanks again!
I pruned the lower sicker leaves I plan on keeping a lower light setting to keep the plant from working to hard until the small yellow dots and new leaves stop showing signs of browning.

Some leaves are still showing small reminense of the calcium deficiency but they are doing so much better Im afraid I may over correct so I’m going to leave them alone for a week
