Grow Strong/ Kind LED/ Gorilla sucks!!! $1,200 light and they didn’t send a power cord! I opened a case with customer service but getting nowhere! Anyone know of a compatible cord? Thanks.
I don’t know the light but I used an old pc power cord when mine got lost. Not sure what that style is called but it also powers the fans at work so it must be some what universal. Sorry, not sure if that helped.
That’s janky. Hopefully it is the common house shaped plug. I’ve got a ton laying around the house.
It is not. I’ve got an HPS that I can use a guitar amp power cord for. I’m new to LED stuff and I’ve never seen a plug like this. Someone pointed out a possible $20 option so I ordered it and we’ll see…. Kind LED, Grow Strong and Gorilla are terrible companies. Eff them. The quality of their tents went way down hill. They care nothing for their customers other than overcharging for not-so great merchandise.
Last I seen Kind led lights were available with either 120v or 240v cords. If you were to order directly from them you choose which cord you want. I’m not familiar with grow strong industries, so maybe they are a retailer or parent company. But my guess is someone just forgot to pack the cord. Either way, Kind lights have always hit me as just because they are expensive doesn’t make them good. Sorry you’re having to deal with this!
You are correct that standard cord won’t work. It’s a 3 or 4 pin with waterproof barrel connector. The shitty part about these is that there isn’t 1 standard thread pattern that all manufacturers use for the connectors. So even if the pin layout is the same, a generic cord from amazon may not engage tightly or crossthread when joining the female side to the male. So be careful when this cord arrives to not damage the connector on driver.
My advice is to send that loght back and spend 1200 on an hlg light or ac infinity. But thats just me
I would gladly do that but customer service will not return phone calls, emails, or their own customer service online forms. It’s been two weeks of radio silence so I think I’m stuck with it.
And yes, grow strong industries is parent company for Kind and Gorilla
They’re out-of-stock, and no one in customer service will return my phone calls or emails.
Keep calling during buisness hours
Only good thing about them is their tents
I just called them and press 1 for interested in purchasing. They picked up immediately. I know you’re probably really frustrated. I would try to hold back and be really kind. Hopefully they’ll get it sorted out.

Dude… Call and press “1” when they answer ask to speak to a supervisor… and vent about the cord…
2Guessing that was SM was implying

Yes, that was my implication. I was saying be kind though. Simply because you want them to help you out in getting the cord they neglected to send. If you call them griping, based on your the previous reference to the poor customer service, they’re likely to be unhelpful.
The likeliness of them being unhelpful is the way customer service has completely ignored me. I haven’t been anything but congenial and courteous in my “support case” form and a follow-up email from a week and a half ago. Their website just says cord is out of stock. I’ll try another phone call and see what happens. I ordered an Ion-Nema cord for $10 (plus $10 shipping) that I was told would work from another vendor. Also will have to order some oscillating clip-fans since the two that gorilla puts in there $2,200 5x5 tent kit don’t oscillate. I definitely should’ve got an Ac Infinity kit. Lesson learned.
I’ve gravitated towards ACI… but read carefully one fan implies ‘oscillating’ but in reality it can manually be swung from side to side, by hand… I bought one got POd and bought the ‘on sale’ vivosun clip fans (2) that I’m happy with. I like the ACI controllers too.
Man sorry you’re going through that. I really can’t say enough good about ACI though for the future. They’ve always been top notch for me. If you don’t get it sorted out and can return and get a new light I’d look there.
Just got a phone call from grow strong. They’re going to send me a 240 cord and I’ve gotta get my own 120 adapter. They will give me a future credit for the cost. It took over a week but at least they got back to me. If it was my business I’d overnight the cord.
True, I’m only saying read the product description carefully… I’m in with ACI.
I’m about to talk about their AI controller. I love it… Out of the box, if one has the climate resources required (normal stuff) it’s magic … to me anyway…
