Hi all - an old Newbee here - these are my 8 Super Skunk babies as of yesterday afternoon - This is my second grow season - Last year I lost all my plants as I didn’t pick them in time and a late september hell rain waterlogged and molded them - I dont want to make the same mistake again - don’t know but Id guess these are starting to flower??? - Can anyone tell me??? - I just fertalized with Fox Farm Big Bloom - how often might I do this - hoping for a very foggy future - and when will be a good time to harvest - These beasts are on cape cod USA -
Thats one of the hardest aspects to growing weed… the harvest window. Typically in soil… u want to stop feed 7-10 days before harvest. But harvest times fluctuate from environment to environment and plant to plant. If she’s going 7 more weeks, u stop feeding in 5-6. Its more of a play by ear thing… u get a knack for it with each grow season. But im still iffy and on my 3.5th grow . Dont worry tho. Just stick around and posting pics and ull be fine.
Do u have a jeweler’s loupe? Essential for finding proper harvest window. Most stop feeding at around 80% cloudy trichs.
I look at the overall aspect of the plant then look at the ‘apparent’ age of the flower. If it’s getting large colas that are lumpy with a bit of foxtailing then I start my water only regimen after a good flush in Florakleen.
Over the summer I gave them chicken shit from a bag at the garden store - couldnt resist - cow shit too - and also rose tone - We have beautiful roses here too - also roses dont work when u smoke them but sweet flavor - ha ha - Ive also given my plants Fox far big bloom - how often and how long should do this - last time 2 days ago - when should I start flushing??? - best all chicken shit lover friends - neekokeen
I water 2 gallons every morning, my ladies are in 10 gal cloth pots, an inch off the ground on my deck, lots of airflow to the entire pot…they dry out easily after being in the sun all day (9am -4pm)!
That being said I feed every other day, my girls are VERY happy for the past month and I haven’t deviated from my schedule, aside from slight adjustments to the amount of nutes each plant gets individually (I sorted that out a while ago so now I’m on autopilot with feedings)
So I couldn’t agree more with @Myfriendis410 , the less futzing the better!
You learned perhaps the hardest lesson in growing: when to leave alone and when to intervene. Lots of growers look at a perfectly happy plant then nuke it with too much fertilizer. Then chase problems the rest of the grow.
@Not2SureYet runs numbers in coco that you would think would STARVE a plant and produces some of the best cannabis you’ll ever have (his terpenes profile is FAR better than mine!)
Hi all - just wanted to post some update photos for any further advice from all you girl watchers - I have noticed that some of the leaves have turned quite yellow on my tallest plant and Ive been pulling them off (is that good?) - also am starting to notice some color change on the flowers - green to brown - but the brown is not all over the flowers - wondering if I should prune the brown spots or just wait - and how much longer does it look like I should wait until I harvest? Also any estimate of how much I will harvest, this looks like alot to me - just 8 plants - and strictly for my own home use) I took these pictures September 20th - thanks all - nick
That is bud rot! Clean it out and harvest her immediately! Quarantine and be extrememly careful. Bust open any buds browning outside. The inside is most likely compromised. Toss any bud rot buds. Wash ur remaining harvest in a tub of water with a cup of peroxide. Then hang with fans to drip dry. Then dry as normal. But DEFINITELY REMOVE THAT PLANT
