@OGIncognito @Graysin hoping one of you experienced growers can give more advice. I have the one girl that didn’t stretch. I was getting paranoid about how the buds are all packed together. I pryed the side branches apart. Found what appeared to be mold starting. I pruned the two branches with mold, and don’t see any other signs of mold. I assume the pruned buds are ok to smoke if the mold was cut off? Should i keep growing the rest of the plant, or will it come back? I turned up my oscillating fans and spread the plant out.
Wash the bud in peroxide before you dry and smoke it, even if the mold was cut out. Peroxide will kill the mold spores if there are any.
@OGIncognito @Graysin My runt runtz had to be chopped early. i thought i saw a hint of mold today, but closer look found top cola had more mold spreading thru it. I salvaged a little, but it wasnt mature anyway. Other than get rid of the moldy plant, is there anything i can/should do to protect all the other plants? None of the others are near as bulky and thick as the runt.
@Autofreak Have any experience with mold? Should i be in freak out mode with the other girls? They are nowhere near as dense. I got all my fans kicking on high and dehumidifier trying to hold 45%
As long as you have good airflow and keep the humidity down, you should be good. Make sure to look over and under every nook and kranny for sign of mold. Move the plants out and sterilize your area and move the plants back in just in case.
Is the lighter green color the suspected mold?
@BWoods no. The lighter green is the inside of the buds were i cut them apart. I cut them apart to get a good look for more mold and to help them dry out after washing. I cut out the mold before i took pic. The mold was grey to brownish.
Haha thank you for the clarification! I didn’t see any mold in pic but I just put one in to cure that had the lighter green color inside bud so I thought I better check! Happy growing growmie
Right on. You will know mold if ya see it. It looks rotten like you think it would. Hope yours cures and smokes great.
I’ve only run into a small amount of mold on my purple kush. The bud were moderately dense, but I think it’s when I put her in the dark ( to see if it actually made a difference…I didn’t notice any ) for 60 hrs. Found a small amount in the main cola. It was either mold or a spider mite web. What I do if all the buds are super thick, is cut every branch off and hand them individually.

Looking for some more advice and or opinions. i thought i was past the mold issue when i removed the one plant. I found some more on another girl today.
I cut the moldy cola off, and took all the plants out of tent to inspect them. I can’t find any more evidence of mold. The ladies are 10 weeks from sprout (7 weeks of flower), so they probably need another two weeks or more.
Do i say better safe than sorry and start harvesting and hydrogen peroxide wash them before i see more mold on more plants? The trics are maybe half cloudy. Just starting to get some ambers on sugar leaves.

I would spray with a hydrogen peroxide/water mix to keep the mold spores out of the air and prevent spread.
@Docnraq @ChittyChittyBangin @OGIncognito tagging in a second set of eyes from some other trusted growmies - I haven’t had much mold to contend with - the only time it happened was entirely self induced, so my advice may be of minimal value in practice.

@Graysin I’m afraid of the spores. I got them packed in tight, and the one with mold is closest to an oscillating fan. What sort of mix ratio for the peroxide spray?
50% water, 50% peroxide.
Keep your airflow at maximum, including any oscillating fans, and apply liberally throughout the tent.
You want maximum wind power to disperse the peroxide, and then help dry up the water afterward.
I have two 6" oscillating fans above canopy blowing into them. 4" intake fan under canopy. 6" exhaust fan. The fans are all on high except the exhaust. It sucks the tent too much if i crank it.
@Graysin are you suggesting spraying on the plants as well as the entire grow area?
Also, does it matter if it’s tap water or distilled water?
