Hi there.
So I have been using distilled water and checking to make sure the pH level is close to 6.
Yesterday both tanks in my Aerogarden Farm were measuring 5.85 but today they are both up to 6.5. This is the second time this happened.
Does anyone know why there is an increase in alkalinity so quickly? I didn’t add anything to it. Is it absorption of nutrients ? Water temperature?
What would you recommend?

Water temp info will be needed. You really need to do a Support ticket and enter in all the information so we can try to see what is going on. Plus add photos in natural light and not Blurple lights since they make what is going on due to color.

There are a few reasons for ph fluctuations not the least of which is the dilution of the solution due to transpiration!
It is totally normal, large commercial ops have ph probes in the tanks which track and tell the dispenser when and how much to correct.
Some ph swing is actually good because if you look at a nutrient uptake chart you will see that some nutrients are barely or even not available if your ph is 7 all the time. That being said, unless you have a leaf reader, its going to be trial and error. This is why keep records is a good idea.

There really isn’t much to show insofar as the plants are healthy.
The water is far too hot- maybe 30c:86f and Aerogarden doesn’t have much to say about it. Some people comment it could be the pump which was running continuously that’s heating the water… so I turned it onto 20m on 20 off.

Pretty hard to accurately measure distilled water pH unless you are checking AFTER nutes are in.
From Blue lab, "Accurate pH readings in solutions with a ppm (500 Scale) of less than 250ppm [0.5 EC] can be challenging to obtain, and require the pH probe to be extremely well maintained and in excellent condition. " Temp can play a part too as others said. I have a float valve that refills water as it goes down. The pH will go up over time. Do you have something like this?
pH changes over time due to various interactions. It’s fairly normal with distilled water, as its ions interact with the air/roots/microscopic critters, there’re lots of changes happening that affect pH. This is true for everything, but since distilled water is so pure, it tends to change easily/rapidly.

aha! that would be the only difference between this grow and the last one. All the other times I used tap water.
This time around I did give them nutes yesterday and immediately after it was at 5.8. Then today it was way up.

No, I don’t. Just a regular pH meter.

I meant a automatic refill float valve, but I think you are on the right track. @blackthumbbetty as usual is spot on.
