Why have my plants stopped growing?

What is the brand of soil you are using?. Depending on what it is, you want to the water going in to be 6.5 (soil) or 5.8 (soil-less, like coco). Also, if it’s a soil, you may not need to be adding nutrients yet.

Do you have a ppm meter?

Fox Farms soil mixed with worm castings and organic soil (Kellogg). Starting water is 30 ppm.

Check what your runoff ph is. If you’re going in at 6.17 is typically a little low for soil. 6.5 give or take is usually a better number there, but some feedback on where it comes out would be better to go from there.

Same thing with your ferts, check runoff ppm like sixpackdad suggested. You may not need to be feeding yet. When you do feed, visit gh drain to waste schedule. Your mixture ratio doesn’t look right.

What do you mean by my mixture ratio? How do I know when to start feeding?

How do I get a runoff? Is that adding water until I get a runoff on bottom of pot?

Exactly. I meant how much of each bottle you are applying. gh has a specific schedule you should use for reference. Obviously some room for accepting your soil has a charge needs to be taken as well.

I am following the GH schedule, 50% first feeding and then full strength. What is drain to waste mean?

Drain to waste means you’re you’re feeding and then its going to waste. As opposed to something like a recirculating system. I’m sorry, I didn’t realize the schedule suggested mixing equal amounts of all 3 bottles at any strength for your plant stage.

So with ppms at, 770 and 838 in hydro does that mean a nute change or can ppm be adjusted like ph? This is the first time I have used this reading, past 3 grows I never monitored. I must say that for me hydro is the easiest way to go (past 3 grows) tried soil this time and I am regretting it, soil harder to control, for me. Could you comment on my pics yet with the gold spotting? I was making a mistake by misting my plants which could account for the burn I am guessing. Also with soil, when do I know I need to add nutes? Could this be the cause of my issues? Nutrient burn?

Wet leaves during lights on for sure. Otherwise the info isn’t really there to comment more.

I thought I had supplied the info requested. Thanks for info supplied, I guess I will have to fend for myself and not bother anyone else here. Thnak you.

@esanch just out of curiosity what order are you mixing your nutrients?

Micro first as stated and then then gro and bloom. If I am adding Calmar then that is first then Micro and the other 2.

Ok just checking, for veg I use 1/2 tsp of each of the three part (micro, grow, bloom)and a tsp. Of cal-mag I grow in hydro only and have never had a problem in veg as long as my pH is 5.8 and my water is not too hot. As far as soil I believe you would want your pH almost a full point higher . you might not need to add nutrients just get the pH where it needs to be . The damaged leaves won’t heal so the only way to know if you are back on track is if it’s not getting worse . Try not to get discouraged the people here want to help but it can be hard for a mechanic to fix a car without putting his head under the hood :grinning:

So you do 50% strength. How long? How about when the plant starts flower? What is your mix then?

I was asking if you got runoff ppm and ph data. I didn’t see it posted, if i missed i apologize. But really guessing beyond that.

@esanch I use that mix all the way to flower then transaction with 1 tsp of each and one half tsp of cal-mag

I have found that following this nutrient schedule has worked consistently with different strains both auto and photo but most likely will not be as effective in soil because soil already has nutrients of it’s own

Is the water fresh or has it been sitting for a while under lights? Nasties can grow in standing water and will often show up as blotching on the leaves as the bacteria, molds eat into the leaves. Plants will naturally perspire and don’t need to be sprayed if provided enough water at the roots.

@Gardenguy Hey, that’s my table too. :eye: Do not use the cal/mg since I use city tap water in my DWC. It is consistent and pH stable. No need to measure pH and PPM for the beginner.
