Where it says causes ions to leach from the glass membrane is that only when its left to sit in distilled over a period of time?
Would be my assumption, I have distilled water in a spray bottle that I use to clean my PH and TDS pen, dry them both and into the storage solution. I’ve found this method keeps them both accurate and stable readings
One more question and I’ll stop bothering ya, what tds pen do you have?
Never a bother Grow Bro , I use the Blue Lab TDS pen, super dependable and accurate
Right! Talk grow shop all day long!
@Boogy I use an Apera Ph60 at home and there is about 40 of these Bluelab Metcom combo meters spread all over the cultivation phases at work.
Oh im looking for a good but not to expensive tds meter i have a couple ph meters im good there
Crazy as it sounds I have had great luck with the cheapest of tds meters. 12 dollar jobbies from vivosun. Yes that is the ph meter I use.
I have a Milwaukee 55 pro which i think was around $50 and a couple ph 600 pictured that cost $21 and can be calibrated with a small screwdriver
My thoughts for what they are worth. Ph’n your water is crucial. Don’t chance it. Get a decent meter my man.
I to use apera for pH and blue labs for EC. I always rinse my device before and after I am done using it, the store as @OGIncognito said in the storage solution.
Grab some epsom.
I personally would use your well water, but, check ph and adjust as needed. If your ph is too high, add a couple drops of lemon juice, stir, and recheck ph once stable. Continue to do this until your ph level is reached. There are micronutrients that your plant utilizes that are not available in RO/Distilled water. Also as mentioned above, agricultural epsom salts, a tablespoon will take care of any cal/mag issues. Ill get a picture of one of my plants thats had a cal mag def and since adding epsom shes happy. Youll be able to see the change in the growth.
I have some CalMag. I have doubled the dose. My plant is drinking a gallon every 2-3 days. I have run about 2 gallons, and the deficiency seems under control.
I’m in the same boat, I’ll give this a try myself.
@Bubblegumfreak what kind of issues are you having my friend
Hey @Reed71
I believe the same thing that’s going on here, I upped the cal-mag and I’ll see how it goes. Im following the jacks 321 formula so
I’m not super sure how much more. These photos are from a few days ago, the same leafs have gotten worse and some others started looking like this.
Can you send photos of them now @Bubblegumfreak looking like your right my friend happy growing
Recovery from previously posted plant mag deficient.
New growth perfect. Just wanted to update so can see how the calcium needed the mag.
What you posted specifically states and is highlighted “Do not Store your pen in distilled” “STORE” being the key word. We should use the 4.00/7.00 or 10.0 solutions for storing our pens. I use only RO and always have to supplement extra cal/mag all through flowering.
