What do you think is causing this?

PH 5.8
PPM 450
HUMIDITY 51%
WATER TEMP 70.3F
AIR TEMP 73F

Using distilled water so I added in calmag.

Good move on the cal/mag… To me, that’s what it looks like starting… But def wait for other more knowledgable peeps to chime in. @Noctis420… Assuming everything else is on target like your ph etc… I used distilled water on my last grow, not using now… Just well water ph’d to right level

Yeah maybe I didn’t put enough calmag in but it’s weird this only seems to happen with my autos

I know I’ve read that cannabis in general, needs cal mag at extra doses… Some stains more than others… Also read from @bob31, his autos seems to need more cal/mag than his photos… Pls correct me if I’m wrong Bob

I have two auto grows and one in each grow showed cal-mag deficiency at about the 4th week of flowering.

I’m thinking start them on call mag at beginning of flowering or at least by the second feeding in flowering.

I used the big three fox farm nutrients in happy frog soil 3 gallon pots.

One ak47 auto and one blueberry auto.

@bob31 that is what I did this grow. I had to buy cal-mag last grow for a problem, and figured since I had it, might as well use it. I just add it in with my normal nute feedings, not full recommended strength, I go about half strength. I do not know if it expires or not, but in the small doses that bottle will be around a while even if I use through out the entire grow…

So far no ill effects either way…

This plant is tiny and already starting to flower lol I’m not sure it’s even worth it but I’m going to see if it recovers I added in more calmag

Looks like a ph swing, if ph has moved more than .2 you get those little white dots and they most likely will turn brown and lave a small hole . It looks worse then it really is. Keep ph at correct range to fix. Leafs will not return to green . But your ok as long as it doesn’t get worse.

I check on the pH twice a day before lights out and when lights are back on. Although it did crawl up to 6.2 yesterday so then I flushed it and gave it bloom nutrients and it was extremely happy. Then this morning no good. I switched in my 150watt led just now hopefully she improves.

That’s it she went to 6.2 and then down to 5.8 that’s up .4 then down .4 major ph swing. You might want to flush the system a salt build up maybe happening

Looks like bugs to me @Noctis420 have you checked under the leaves to be sure there are no gnats spider mites or anything?

Thats exactly what my BBA looked like at the beginning of the ca;-mag deficiency

I’ve found that a ph swing will cause most problems, simply correcting ph and maintaining ph will fix most problems before the get any worse.

I didn’t have any pH issues. Had two plants side by side everything exactly the same including runoff pH and TDS. One got the deficiency, the other did not.

I do agree on pH being the number one cause of issues in growing, but not in every case.

I didn’t say all the time just most. And I haven’t seen anything other then ph cause white spots but I’m no pro.

Hey @Donaldj can I use rhino skin during veg? It’s silica. Supposed to strengthen your stems help resist bugs and mold. It was too windy in the the tent and my plant fell over. Hopefully it’s not going to die but I’m trying to figure out If I can use this stuff in veg. It says to use in flowering but the stems seem really weak and the there is no sign of calmag deficiency and i gave it calmag. I’m just curious if it would work? Any suggestions.

@Noctis420 I think @ktreez420 uses it in veg .
