My White Widow Auto is exactly 3 weeks old today & she has pistils showing now. I’m concerned with the daytime temps. The highs are running around 88 - 96 F. I use fans outside to try to keep her & my photos cooler. This is my first Autoflower grow & I really want to have it be successful. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
What lights are you using , and you want your temps between 72-78 degrees , but some strains can tolerate high temps , so if it’s not showing any heat stress , it may have adapted and don’t mind the high temps .
I’m growing outdoors so my my only source of light is from the sunshine. The plants currently aren’t showing any signs of heat stress. As the spring progresses into summer though, the temps climb even higher. My daytime humidity is running around 45-70 percent. It fluctuates during the day. Should the plants start showing signs of heat stress, what would you recommend? Thanks for the input.
If they outside , nature takes care of its own , you should have no heat issues I don’t believe , but you can foliar spray the plant with ph water that’s the same ph in the soil , and keep it moist like its misting or raining and it will protect its self . But if it was in a closed space , say as for a grow tent or closet , box , etc , you would want to moved the hot stale air out and bring cooler fresh air inside the grow space , but outside I believe nature will take care of it on its own , happy growing and that should be a great yield outside .
I’ve been misting them with pH’d water several times a day. Them seem to really like that so I’ll continue with that. Thanks for the input. I really appreciate it.
Yeah if they outside and you spray or mist them , to the plant it thinks it’s raining and it helps open the stomata which helps the plants release oxygen and used carbon monoxide and light to photosynthesis !!!
Watch your misting as she starts to bud. With such high heat, you don’t want to have to worry about mold.
My Berry White auto has done fine with my heat and humidity, but mine is also just a week from harvest.
Perhaps a little shade screen placed in a way that will provide some protection at the apex of the day. As long as there is good airflow around her, you should be fine.
@pigSquishy recommended yucca root to help with high heat issues. Has noted other benefits to it as well.
Good fortune!
Yesterday I moved them into some partial shade for a few hours. All are in 3-5 gal buckets so this makes it easy for me to move them around in my backyard during the day. I’ll be sure not to mist when they bud as I’d really hate to get that far to lose some due to rot or mold. Thanks for the input.
Yes I’m interested in reading these articles. I sure do appreciate any help you can offer.
Thanks a lot pigSquishy. Gonna get started reading now.
I’m a outdoor grower on the equator at 4000 feet altitude…My temps range from a low of 63 to a high of 83,I made a tea from my compost barrel drips and diluted it 50%,I spray my crop a couple of times a week,It really helps…
I forgot to mention that the only fertilizer I use is coffee grounds,I just spread it on top of the soil and occasionally work it in after a rain…
That’s good , but you want to ph the water at all times .
