Currently indoor growing an auto and I just noticed it is showing signs of sex. When do I switch to the recommended light for flowering? Would that be now?
That depends on the training technique and or plant count Grow Bro. A SCROG technique with one or 2 plants would veg longer to fill the net. Regular topping and LST is a growers choice. Using the latter I run 2-3 plants in a 2 x 4 with a quick 3 sometimes 4 week veg then Change up the light schedule to 12/12
If you have a light with veg/bloom switches, then both should be on the whole grow. These lights are usually underpowered. Running both on helps address wattage shortages.
Hey OG it’s actually an auto so I think I can leave on 20/4 but not sure. I just know with my light it has a dimmer (soiderfarmsf1000) and recommends for certain stages I didn’t know if I was in flowering now or not.
This is a spider farm sf1000 that has a dimmable switch but they recommend ranges for each stage of life. Wasn’t fully sure if I was in flower or not once it shows sex. Just want make sure it’s getting the max PPFD when flowering hits
I run 18/6 or 12/12 if the autos are sharing the same tent with a photo period plant
Sorry my question is being asked poorly. Once I am seeing signs of sex is this considered flowering? I need to know to change the intensity of my dimming lights for flower if it is. @OGIncognito
Just means it’s sexually mature, will not go into flower unless you give 12ish hours of darkness. I’m not seeing male or female on the pic above
It’s an auto OG I read you don’t change light schedule it goes in it automatically. I will take a better picture later sorry for confusion but I did mention was an auto earlier
If you get a par or quantum sensor… You can set your light to this approximate schedule:
Don’t use the orange, higher dli numbers unless you’re adding extra CO2.
@Growmoredank @OGIncognito . Guys I have an auto flowering plant, from what I’ve read you do not need to change the light schedule. I have a dimmable spiderfarm sf1000 that gives me recommended height and intensity for each stage of the plant. I am currently in the veg recommendations and curious when flowering officially starts? Is it when the little white hairs poke out as shown in the picture or a different thing to look for for flowering. It needs more intensity for flowering so at the sign of its sex is that considered flowering? I do not know how to ask any other way I’ve tried my best three times lol I pray you understand what I am asking this time.l😅
Pic of whole plant to know it is in flower
But does the first sign of the white hairs indicating female mean it’s in flower?gahhhhhhhhhhh I feel like Adam Sandler in anger management on the plane lmfao
I apologize… I don’t grow autos… But if you know the approx age then the chart may help.
According to the chart autos veg into flower is 45 dli… Set your light to the manufacturers recommended height above canopy… Then set the dimmer or the lights intensity to the proper dli on the chart.
I understand exactly what you are asking. From that blury picture of a stem I can’t tell.
This is begining where I start counting weeks and turn up light.
My apologies, the autos I grow typically start flowering between 38-44 days above ground
Thank you that’s what I was curious about
Thank you this picture shows me I’m not even close
Still be nice to see a pic of the plant. Gahhhhhhhh Adam Sandler. LOL
