In order to harvest at the right time you want to check your trichomes color as suggested above.

Week 4 or 5 from the light flip ?

That frostiness is makin’ me drool .
As sweet as they look, I would TRY to hold off and see if they will fatten up some more.

Day 31 in flower :blossom:, and about 42 days left I believe , I’m not quite sure if it’s 72 or 78 days flowering .

@Audiofreak , Even though the chart explains , I still believe it’s apart of the growers experience and art of knowing when is the right harvest time. Cause once you harvest , those trichomes are still ripening as the plant slowly starts to dry and lose the water vapors , and light will degrade about 10% of your trichomes if you dry in light .
Another key factor , all strains are not the same when it comes to ripening for taste , quality ,and potency, so it’s an art to watch , generally measure timing in drying and curing base off trichome stage at time of harvest . I do all 3 , cloudy :partly_sunny:and about 15% amber on the top bud . Second cut :scissors: is all cloudy on the second bud from the top is about 10% more amber which by this time all trichomes are more than likely past the clear stage and mainly cloudy.
Just to know what stage was the best quality in that plants harvest. :potted_plant:

The Op posted with the indication they have never seen a tricome as they dont even have a loop. First thing they need is know what to look for. Once they see it they can learn more. They have to start someplace. I remember my first harvest, I had no clue what a tricome was!

I was looking at the pistils thinking they’re trichomes and wondering when they were supposed to be “clear” i got people talking about cloudy and amber but they just never were clear… It took me some time to figure… :man_facepalming::stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye::rofl::joy::+1: The more you know

Clarifying the dry in light comment. I presume it’s ok post chop to have them in light while you wet trim for a couple hours? Then it’s into a room dark for a week.

My question is do I need to sit in a closet with night vision while I trim :joy::sunglasses::+1:. My guess is no but trying to limit any degradation. @yoshi lookkg good

As you suspect. Dark refers to average exposure for extended period. The light degrades the THC like sunlight fades a dashboard, over time not as quick, although direct sun like on a dashboard would ruin some smoke pretty quick but you get the idea…

In order to find out, you have to be inside…
