Whats wrong ? Leaves look weird

@Mark0427 is giving you some solid advice on watering/feeding in coco. When you somt keep coco wet or water to run off the salts and minerals will collect around the root mass/zone creating lock out. PH is critical for nutrient intake and can create multiple issues :love_you_gesture:

I’m in the process of switching to hydro now. Or well in the "getting my shopping list together while learning everything I can about it process "
I will probably end up buying a 6 pot rdwc for my 4x6 tent, and I’m thinking I want to build a ā€œfallponicsā€ with a large tub 15gal or so for my 3x3 to play and learn with.

But I kinda agree, each has there pros and cons and I can totally see how hydro could be better for beginners weather it’s coco or otherwise… At the same time it could be worse I think  if the beginner doesn’t have a basic understanding of a few things it could be catastrophic quickly I believe…
But yeah I’m starting to feel like soil kinda sux indoors.

Hydro is a bit different from using coco coco is consider like a hydro grow with a medium. Hydro from my understanding is a plant grown on a nute res with Rockwood hydroton or something along them lines hydro is a bit challenging if u don’t have a water chiller to keep the water at a set temp raising and lowering temps from light heat makes the pH jump up and down alot more if u have the chiller to keep the res at a set temp or the res in a good set area u might have some good stuff. I don’t fully understand the whole ins and puts of rdwc as I just don’t get how the nutes run thru the medium and come out the other end and back into res and nothing change. Makes me no sense if that’s how it works.

Coco is just a form of hydroponics.
Tips for Using Coco Coir in Hydroponics - Coir.com.

And rdwc works just as you described. Basically you mix a solution fill every thing up and all the buckets are tied together and solution is pumped in one side of side of bucket and out the other to the next bucket till it gets threw them all and back into the reservoir.
It works based on fluid dynamics as watercis moved by the pump more water has tk take the place of what was moved and since it’s all tied together, then all the water makes its way through at some point.

It’s basically a fluid and drain except it never drains, or like a bunch if bubble buckets tied together with a large reservoir that helps keep the nutrition solution mixed and cool as there is more water so more thermo mass to distribute heat. As well as the more water you have the more stable the ph is…

But Coco is a good introduction to hydroponics because it’s kinda like soil.

Good luck with the Hydro switch brother, I’ve toyed with the idea and have 1 bubble bucket for 2 years and a DIY Aeroponic system I built. My tents and closet are full at the moment and couldn’t squeeze another plant in… maybe a so cup grow :joy:. Gonna stay with Coco for now :love_you_gesture:

Haha wanna grow big plants. If u can make a solo cup live the whole life in the solo cup I don’t care who u are or what any1 says if u complete a solo grow start to finish u are a god. It is such a pain in the ass to get it to keep a solid color let alone get bud to grow on it lol. If u complete a solo u r a god of growing in my eyes cuz it’s a biotch

Thanks Brother, I was thinking it was going to be a major pain in the Azz! I can’t stand having New beans and waiting to plant them. I’m thinking about making some kind of stand or holder, assumed once it started branching out it was going to fall over :love_you_gesture:

Dam man now I absolutely have to flower one in a solo cup  or try to.

I literally just put 5 crinkle cuts in the cups a couple hrs ago.
I will leave one of them in if all 5 come up.
They are extremely small and fast autos so it be a good strain to try it with I guess :man_shrugging:

Autos really should be started in their final homes. If the root ball starts to swirl in the cup too much before transplant it is gonna create a small plant for u. My best autos came from being planted strait to the pot. Doing the solo cup first seemed to restrict the root ball in the bigger pot. If u do solo cup first as soon as the leaves r touching the sides of the cups let it dry out some and transplant. Don’t let the roots swirl in the cup

Yeah I definitely transplant them alot sooner then I would others.

Yeah should not be doing that with coco, don’t let it dry up, keep it moist.

Plant looks hungry and the off colors would indicate a ph problem. I’d flush the cup with water and nutes at 5.8 ph. I’d pour a quart of water/nutes thru the cup. That will reset the ph and leave it with food. I’d do half strength of the FF feeding schedule.

Someone said solo cup grow, here’s a Gorilla Glue I grew in a solo cup, after 2 weeks water only to bring out the harvest colors. Wasn’t too bad, just needed watering 3 times a day in flowering.

Holy spit dude. That’s nuts. I can’t even prolly get a quarter oz on mine I bet holy cow. That’s beautiful. What the hell am I doing so wrong lmao. It’s rough keeping this thing going. Maybe letting it set in the water as long as I do offs the pH before it takes it up hmmm

That girl even surprised me a little, over 2 oz from her at harvest.

I watered/fed her 3 times a day in flowering at around 750 ppm, with lots of runoff - every watering was a flush and feed basically so ph was always on point.

Her roots at harvest time

She was nicely green and healthy before going water only

Dude that’s awesome right there. Gonna try and finish mine out better more waters and like u so or did. Let see if I can fatten them up a bit lol.
