Everything was healthy while i was on automatic feed in promix hp . Moved over to hand watering only when the pot is dry (running liquid fertilizers) to save on water and feed. Now this popped up. Might be a ph thing but wanted your feedback.
Auto feed as in from the top or was this bottom wicking?? What is the PH in the run off… I’m thinking a magnesium deficiency?? Can you post some more pics. What’s your nutrient line up and feeding frequency with PPMs in and out
You’d expect to see yellowing between veins, on the other leaves, if it were Mg deficiency @OGIncognito.
Definitely need a whole plant shot and some more info. Make sure to get a top down shot.
So, i use jacks ro formula in ro water at the recommended ec (2.3) between 5.8 to 6.3 ph. I run them in promix hp in 10 gallon fabric pots. Been doing this successfully for years. But i was doing automatic watering (from the top with spikes) and feeding them everyday with runoff but i was running through the expense nutes. At the end of the harvest i noticed the roots weren’t filling the pot but i grew the plants big, filling a 5x5. So i decided to do hand watering only when the pots are pretty light, ruffly once every 2 or 3 days. This saves me alot on nutes and should promote better root growth since they should be searching for water now instead of being always wet. I might drop down in pot size next run to a 7 or 5 gallon.
So i always had really high runoff ec but the plants never really minded when i was giving them tons of water. Ph is about the same in the runoff as incoming. I water to a decent amount of runoff everytime.
Through that out after considering some other deficiencies and resembled an advanced Mag def. Definitely wasn’t early stages but more interested in the PH. Appreciate ya Brother I was considering potassium but just didn’t have the look
My thought was Boron, but the recent pics don’t show what i’d expect fur this.
You n me both.
Typical mag def.
The elongated rust spots are throwing me off, nothing happening on the edges to resemble Potassium. Something off on the PH
Everything fits but the tops. Usually the leaves are a bit twisty/wavy/curvy. Not like Zinc that makes the leaves twist 45° from the petiol.
Definitely answers the necrosis. Learned a new one, seems pretty rare
Don’t wanna say 100% positive that it’s B, but I’m 95% sure it’s a macro def.
Whenever I’ve run into B def, outside, the tops were definitely showing burns.
What’s the target ph i should aim for?
I usually aim for 6
Bump to 6.2
Out of curiosity what’s your water source
Well water then sent through an ro water system
The RO is stripping the water of the macros. Are you adding them back in with a re-mineralization cartridge or via bottled?
I had to look it up, but yes, it has macros added for RO. You’re good.
