So just out of curiosity…I’d be interested in seeing what’s the highest number of plants you grew at one time?
For me it’s just the legal number which is 4. So your numbers are probably going to dwarf mine.
Let me know and tell me about how much work it was, if you thought you bit off more than you could chew so to speak, if you had any regrets and if you had any help in growing that number.
Ive rooted 36 clones with the intents of keeping them all then quickly realized that was a far fetched idea after putting 36 1 gal side by side and getting an estimate of the amount of room needed. Quickly killed off a majority of the clones and only kept the biggest and ones with the most roots which ended up being 17 after it was all said and done then i threw them immediately to flower after transplanting to 1 gal pots. After that run i realized less is more and i surely got ahead of myself so ive been sticking to 3-4 plants again
Well, my legal limit is 4 as well. In late February, I started 2 photos and an auto. When I topped the photos, I cloned the cuttings. And dropped 2 more autos as part of @Grannygrows Harvest Moon Seed Drop. Then took more cuttings/clones.
So I had 3 in my tent, 2 autos and 2 tops outside, then another 14 cuttings I was going to plant in the hills or by the river. Ended up having surgery and that threw the guerilla grows out the window. So 22 at that point.
Gave my neighbour 4 plants, and whn I harvested the auto from the tent, I put the remaining 10 clones that were outside in with their mothers in the tent, leaving me with my 4 “legal” plants outside, and 12 in the 4x4. One turned hermie on me, leaving me 11 in the tent. Once the 2 mothers flowered out and were harvested, the remaining 9 had a bit more room to grow outwards but all they did was grow upwards. I hated them but couldn’t get rid of them. Abused and neglected, half-starved and in tiny pots, I didn’t want anything more to do with them honestly.
But they grew, massive single colas!
The 4 outside finished as well…the autos end of August, and the 2 photo clones got harvest October 20th, very unusual for Vancouver area weather, it usually starts pissing rain end of September and you get bud rot. But not this year!
So, 22 at one time, gave 4 away, 1 hermie, but harvested 17 plants, around 25 ounces dried. Not bad for a 4-plant limit! I have 5 in the tent now, and just took 10 more cuttings…here’s what’s growing on now
for me its 2. Thats all my current light will support. Im hoping to get a bigger additional light soon and maybe go up to 6. I dont live in a friendly state so I cant grow anything outdoors. Im not super familiar with my states laws but I believe its only a misdemeanor up until a certain number of plants then it becomes a felony, so I guess I should consider that.
Yea, I grew in the 80’s when I had nothing to lose, then once I got a good government job (and lost my growspace), I hung it up until Canada legalized it in Oct 2018. So spring 2019 I put my legal 4 on my 3rd floor patio. Only did outside until we bought a house last year and I had to buy a tent!
But in BC, they haven’t busted growers for such a long time. Not worth the paperwork unless you are growing a shit-ton of them or selling, neither of which I’m doing. Keep it personal and they won’t bust ya. And now retired so the threat of losing my job is gone now too!
ive had it in my possession twice during traffic stops and told that I had it. both times I was just told “thank you for your honesty” I really dont think anything would happen here where im at unless someone was selling it. i have seen people charged for it but they always have other substances also. Thankfully the perception of it is quickly changing.
Starting Jan 1, 2023, British Columbia is allowing 2.5 gram possession of ANY drug (still 1 ounce of weed on person, 2.2 pounds dried at home). That includes coke, meth, heroin, etc. Cops spend too much time and money busting addicts with their daily dose with a revolving door justice system. Glad they are treating addictions as a health issue instead of a criminal one.
Honestly no clue. I routinely have ~12 in veg and 12 in flower. I’m germinating ~36-40 now, I don’t think they’ll all make it to the veg or flower stage but that’s the most I’ve ever soaked at once. It sounds mad when I say it
That harvest moon seed drop from granny was fun, unfortunately I had a back surgery right in the middle of it so I kinda dropped off the map. She was a trip, any word from her lately?
61 plants, in qubic foot planters MG soils while residing MCAS IWAKUNI JA.
Had to give away half of them. No room for 40 tomato plants in small base housing yard, once I supper cropped them. 750 cherry tomatoes on drying rack once.
Worked out pretty well actually. Word of the wise clone more than you need. Even if i only want 17 i would of still cloned an extra 5 so i can pick and choose or have backups in case anything happened
