What to use to pH water if using Happy Frog soil(microbes)

Wow thanks I don’t even pay attention to that stuff lol. Didn’t even know it.

Unfortunately I’m using the Fox Farm trio rn. Waiting to get through them all before switching to a living soil. At least that’s the direction I’m leaning. Too much salt build up. But my next grow I’m going to try feeding them at 1/2 strength and see how they do. I’ve finally gotten runoff figured out. I just have to water with a PH of 7.5 to get 6.5 runoff. Hopefully this is the right thing to do? I’ve used dolomite lime as a topcoat but in my experience it didn’t do shit… and I have like no clue what you just said lol I don’t know what any of that stuff is other than fulvic acid, which how do you know when you need to randomly throw in fulvic acid and what makes you change up what you give your plants and when?

Jacks is a simple 3 part dry mix. Part a part b and epsom salts. Really epsoms is not needed tho so we changed the ratio some on the part a and b and omitted the epsoms big. Uds and. Uds candy are boosters. Big bud helps promote bigger buds and. Uds candy is like a molasses for. Uds but clear. Lolhumic and Kelly are great for vegging stages as they make a nice lush green plant. Fulvoc helps plants uptake nutrients by however it works. Lol. Tribus is a micro e that helps break down nutrients and all for the plant to uptake in its way for inside growing I can’t get down with soil any longer tried coco after the first grow and am booked. Everything is better with coco. Lol

Shoot bro I kind of want to try coco too in the future but it sounds like a lot more work yeah? Like all the different things you’re mentioning using for different reasons, it sounds really overwhelming. I just can’t imagine knowing all of that info off the top of my head. Is it expensive buying and using all those different things? Also do you have any resources you would recommend for a beginner?

Coc is lots better to me over all. Only downfall is watering daily in flower or have an auto system for easy go. Otherwise it’s basically same as soil just lots cleaner to me smells better and all. In early veg it is like a reg plant water when lighter but not dry like soil. The results r way better to me and growth rate is crazy fast for the most part it’s basically hydro with a medium. Jacks alone will get u beautiful results with coco and jacks comes pretty cheap at like 60 something one bag and 80 something for the other don’t remember which costs more but part a and part b. Part a at 4g per gallon and part b at 2g per gallon and a dash of calmag if u run led lights won’t hurt big bud is just like um helps fatten buds up some bud candy feeds the sugars and stuff needed for the buds to raste and smell good I also ads flower fuel which if i add that it is jacks and flower fuel and tru us thats all. Jacks for that price I mentioned is for 25lb bags and will last u multiple upon multiple grows. I had my first set for almost 2 and a quarter years before I had to buy more. Lol. Coco bricks here for what I use r like 23 bucks per 40lt brick it’s already ready to go expand and grow no buffering needed canna coco is great stuff. So only downfall from coco to soil is more watering but better results I think coco can’t dry out or becomes hydrophobic which causes water to repel from it until it is saturated again next to super wet coco. It’ll c.reate like dry sockets in the pots if dries out totally which can cause bad looks on plants because of root issues

So you just mix the 2 to fill up a pot? Nothing else? Will a 5 gallon air pot work? Also I’ve only grown autos but want to start photos next grow. Can I transplant seedlings straight into their final grow pot of 5 gallons? That’s what I do with autos. No solo cup or 1 gallon or 3 gallon, I just go straight from the jiffy pod to a 5 gallon.

Yes u can. Photos r a little better to grow less shit seems to happen. I’ll get with u after work.

Sorry guys, I came down with the COVID and became little help to you or anyone. That stuff is like a head cold from hell.

@Kingdom_Living we can learn Coco together as after 30 plus years of soil grows I’m going to give Coco a go so my life will not be tied to a watering can anymore.

I’m going to set up an automated watering system. Again I’m sorry I became of little help on this thread but I been feeling awful. The San Fernando Valley OG and some Bubble Hash has been my only medicine.

PH testing pen calibration current?
A broken pen can cause inaccurate readings, FME.

Yeah I just calibrated it again the other day. But I found out a way to get good runoff. I just water with 7.5ph water and 6.3-6.5 comes out

I started watering/feeding with a ph of 7.5 in order to get 6.5 runoff. Is this okay?

Yrs that means it absorbing nutrients. Also like @2GreenThumbs said vinegar will bring ph down and baking soda will bring it up

I’ve just been using ph up/down mixed into my water/solution. Should I not use this? Do you mix vinegar/baking soda into your feed or into the soil? If the soil, how do you know how much to use?

That fine the vinegar and baking soda are just other options

I cleaned and calibrated mine, lastt night.
Still working good, the Apera’s, not the cheapies (last years PH nightmare, x2).
Aperas Calibrate like instructions say and they hold it well.

Here I tried baking soda and vinegar for phing and had bad luck with it here. Had to add way too much B’s to get the numbers I needed ended up going to store for GH pH up and down at the time. It may work but I’m gonna say it is for minimal pH change like minimal

Thanks for saying this I was about to try it but I think the PH up and down is the best way about this

It’s really kinda cheap for general hydroponics pH up and down and here up lasts forever. Or bloom city pH pro has a set like 20 something bucks for up and down and it seems to hold pH pretty steady for my res. Like half point movement at most and the plants drink the rez before it seemed to get any more than half a point out of wack.
