I’m having same problem with happy frog/ ocean forest mix right now. Plants seem to be doing ok maybe a little slow growing. At around 35 days old now, I’ve been watering with 6.8-7 to decent runoff and numbers are now starting to come back at around 6.0. So it’s slowly getting corrected but I’m curious to see what others have to say.
Hey Growmie have you done a reset flush? If not that would be my suggestion
I had the same problem last grow with ocean forest. I watered with ph 7.0 water and amended with powdered dolomite lime. Got the ph back up to 6.3 and away she went.
This is how things work in the real world where you have to average it out. That’s exactly what I do when I encounter a dropping ph.
I added dolomite about a week ago. Hopefully a few more water/feeds it’ll improve. Been watering at 6.8 still got 5.3 and 5.6.
Done with Fox Farms.
You sure its the soils fault?
Well
The only thing ive added to it is H2O
Ph’d to 6.5.
They are 25 days old from germ.
What type of water are you using? RO, distilled, or tap?
Tap water
Ppm 150 ish from tap.
Thats interesting. How do your girls look?
Im going to get a filter for my water.
I had same problem last grow. Autos did well. Photos definitely were effected negatively.

Sprinkled dolomite on soil last week.
3 gallon fabric pots
1 do si do in 5 gallon fabric pot

Of course the photo in the 5 gallon pot is the one most effected. They were watered to runoff today. Saturday.
I want to reset flush at least the 5 gallon do si do asap.
Can I do it tomorrow?
Or should I let it dry for a few days ?
Ive had no issues with ffhf since switching to an RO system.
Those look healthy as can be. I wouldnt be doing a thing differently other than starting some nutes soon. I never check my runoff unless the plant tells me to.
This is from previous grow same low ph issue from the start
It wasn’t pretty, sickly looking from very young, very potent though !
Coulda produced alot more if it had been healthy
@Khaos850
This plant looked fine, till it didn’t.
Then it was too late.
Tryin to avoid a repeat.
Happy Cannaversary Grow Bro! I still recommend a reset flush or maybe a soft reset with straight water at 7.2 to liberal run off and check the numbers. It could take weeks maybe a month with routine watering/feeding to run off. Just my 2 cents Growmie, the silver lining is it being a photo and time to recover but in my opinion that’s wasted growth time
I do not believe water source should impact runoff ph. RO will spit out what ever the soil is. Tap or water with higher TDS that has been ph’d should approximate the soil’s ph. Inert mediums or living soils minimize ph tail chasing.
My tap waters PPM is through the roof. I had no choice. Not just for the plants but for us to drink too.
I know this is irrelevant to PH, but im just saying since i switched to RO, i havent had any issues growing in FFHF.
Understood. All I am saying one has nothing to do with the other. I did not want someone to think switching to RO would solve fox farm soil’s ph issues. I am not sure of the cause. It may be a bad batch (ie poor quality control) or its age - it looses buffering as it ages. It is a constant complaint that has been raised as long as I’ve been a participant here.
