What the heck is going on with OG Kush?

OG Kush was out growing other three plants and then this started happening. Other three in same tent, light cycle, soil mixture and nutrients. Other three look fantastic.

Best I could tell from leaf reference it’s manganese deficiency. How do I get more manganese?

What medium are you in? Have you phd the OG? Slurry test if in soil? Rule out ph before throwing nutes at it.

Top third is coco. Coco soil mix the other 2/3. Ph is around 7.

This is probably the issue. Soil needs a pH of 6.2-6.8, whereas coco requires a pH of 5.8-6.0. Mixing soils is one thing, but mixing different mediums that require different pH’s would maje for a tough grow.

The other two plants are loving it. Same set up, same nutes. I’m gonna try to drop the ph.

I don’t understand the opposition to coco with soil medium. This website sells kits with that exact setup.

They will sell whatever can be sold whether it is advisable or not. There are multiple products out there that offer no benefit or otherwise cause problems or is misleading (bloom boosters being one of them, and burple lights being another example.)

It’s not a good idea for 2 reasons, the first of which is pH. Improper pH for a given grow medium will lead to nutrient absorption issues. Note the charts below. Coco must be treated as a hydro medium with 5.8 being the sweet spot. Soil pH should be ~6.5 for proper nutrient uptake. The pH difference between 5.8 and 6.5 is not really a 0.7 difference as it may seem. pH is measured on a logarithmic scale. The difference is actually a 7x difference, that is, a pH of 5.8 is actually 7x more acidic than 6.5.

The other issue is with watering practices. Coco must be watered daily and it becomes hydrophobic if it dries out. Soil must left to dry out between waterings for proper root health. You can’t satisfy either when the mediums are mixed together.
