What’s wrong with this 1?

Sorry brother but, most everybody that grows inside will stand a chance of having to deal with bugs sooner or later. I did on my second grow.

Like peach said, burn it. You’ll probably waste more time trying to get rid of them than it’s worth. :+1:t2::v::sunglasses:

I cloned these from a mother plant I grew from seeds. They are not outside clones and I haven’t brought anything into my garden, ever.

I have a 100x magnifying glass on the way. I’ll spray them with Avamax via a superfine mist and see how it looks. Then I’ll soak the Rockwool, wash it, then chance the water.

Hopefully the mag glass shows promise.

I didn’t think the roots looked bad but the little white dots on the back of the leaves was what I questioned.

Hoping for the best for ya brother. I had gnats at the end of a grow one time. Fortunately, I was able to harvest first.

Good luck! :+1:t2::v::sunglasses:

Interesting thread. Quick question:

I’ve only had 2 grows of 4 plants each. Both indoor tent grows with autos. One in summer and one in winter.

I have not had one gnat or bug to my knowledge.

Am I doing everything right or am I just lucky and is it inevitable that I too at some point will get them?

This is scaring me for my upcoming 3rd grow.

Everybody stands a chance of getting small pest. It all depends on your living environment. May be that your conditions are staying clean enough.

I think if you have pets and are prone to go in and outside a lot, you may stand a better chance of having bugs. :v::sunglasses:

Maybe a little of both. :man_shrugging:
Its a lot easier to Nix em if you treat for them when you don’t have them…2 simple & inexpensive things I do regardless…Mosquito bits and Capt Jacks, both biologicals and safe up to day of harvest.

I get my turn with gnats and mites every few grows, who knows where they come from, my dogs, GF house plants, me being outdoors, sump pit, overripe fruit from the grocery.

I would get neem oil you can spray underneath and on top you can use it every 2 or 3 days for couple weeks and get rid of all insects good you use for bug prevention always use with lights off i always wait one hour after lights off gives plants time to cool from lights being on

As said above a preventive regimen is the way to go. Living soil here so a gnat battle. Always wet.

Are gnats detrimental to the plant?

If too many. Mostly annoying.

The larvae/pupae are…they eat on the roots. They can cause plant stress stunted plants etc.
The flying ones are just a nuisance, but they breed really fast.
I should add they eat Seeds embryo’s if planting direct in infected soils.

After further examination with the 100x magnifying glass I have determined that there is no infestation. ALL the other plants look wonderful. This one is growing new growth that looks like the rest of the leaves.

Root examination appears to be good as well.

What other insights do you all have?

As I said previously, I have never brought anything into the garden from outside and this all comes from seed.

If every other environmental, pest or disease related problem could be ruled out, it’s a perfectly healthy (as it can be) mutant? Perhaps a better question to ask, what do you do with it now.

Err on the side of caution, get it out of there, clean everything, grow the other plants longer to fill it’s space.

Spend the electricity and grow your little mutant full term and see what you get.

Probably won’t get anything back from the breeder besides a lengthy discussion much like this one.

Well, friends, I figured out the problem. It is definitely root rot.

This plant went in before any of the others in there (10 days or so) and at one point in time the breaker kicked while away and I am not sure how long it set with out water circulation, cooling, light, aeration , etc.

I’ve isolated this one and I am currently doing an H2O2 wash on it for the 24 hours, followed by a ROH2O rinse for 48 hours… Then I’ll see how we look.
