Thank you. That makes sense to me. I know exactly what you’re talking about. I’m going to watch carefully the differences in these first two I cut down regarding their times that I cut them. But like you that stem snap thing I can understand it and I feel it when it happens, but I just feel sometimes my stuff gets so dry. But then that could be a jarring and burping the container issue?
Thanks for the advice and information. I appreciate it.
And thanks everyone have a good morning
If it’s too dry at cure you just fight a tremendous uphill battle. Better to be a couple of points high and come down to your value gradually.
That is exactly what I was thinking. Thank you very much for your reply. I appreciate that!
@neckNflu @Myfriendis410 is right about this, it just slows down the drying process.
Using a nylon rack is fine inside the tent but using the paper bags traps the moisture from leaving the buds quicker. low fan speed is fine and keep around 40% humidity. a plastic tote will work fine too with the lid cracked ![]()
Then into jars and burp them everyday until you are satisfied
Thank you very much. I just put that down in my little notebook. Appreciate the info
I@mulegal haha I know I love to see all the different ways everybody does their stuff. I dint like my bud real dry so I’m a bit different than most . But when you gather all the plant and put in the bags they kinda share moisture from eachother and slows things down. When you use a tire like I do it keeps even more moisture I go back and forth till I get them all trimmed and jarred with the Bovida packs. If you leave them on stem to dry it will slow things to instead of cutting them individually and putting them in a hanging net type thing. And I also don’t wait for the stems to break. I kinda judge buy the bud feel. And if you leave the sugar leaves on the bud while drying it will also slow the process a bit.
@timmyv324 and anyone else, what size Bovida packs to you use? I see them in everything from 8 gram packets to 1 lb bags.
@Niala @neckNflu @Donaldj @Momtomask @Countryboyjvd1971 @Covertgrower @Myfriendis410 @Rugar89
I have never used packs for moisture or humidity but I’m not against it. I would probably have to order some online. I was always nervous about it because I was afraid I would start mold rather than keep my buds in a good humidity range.
8 gram for quart jars or smaller
62% or 55% rh
I dont use them to cure i only use them as a long term storage aid @merlin44
Thanks, guys @neckNflu @Countryboyjvd1971.
I am a bit ahead of myself here but want to be fully prepared, still several months to go.
Hey out of curiosity who’s service flag is that in your icon ? @merlin44
Best to be prepared lol
My father was a Korean War vet, he died a couple of years ago. It is also for all veterans everywhere.
I spent 6 years in the navy (submarine service) back in the '70’s and always have a warm thought for comrades, both living and otherwise.
I built the case (maple and black walnut) and only regret that Dad never really saw any of my wood working.
10-4 @merlin44 much respect brother
Im also a vet Desert Storm era
Very cool you made that box ![]()
I salute you sir
Any chance you knew a sailor named Brad Burbridge? He was submarines late 70’s…
I agree 8 gram is best for that size. If you were doing like gallon size the 60 gram is way to go.
Never made his acquaintance, I was stationed in Pearl Harbor for three years, before that received my nuclear training at Mare Island, Ca and Idaho Falls, ID.
The 8 gram packets for a quart jar work great for storing. Weed stays nice and fresh… and stinky.
I agree with everybody. 8 gm. For jars and 60 for bigger things .
Thank you @neckNflu @Countryboyjvd1971 @Myfriendis410 @dbrn32 @raustin @timmyv324, 8 gram packs it is.
My marching orders are to transplant, wait several days, then FIM.
How much dried/cured weed will a 1 qt masson jar hold?
