What magnifier is the best?

Granny here with not the best eyesight. I have a Forrader Currency Detecting Microscope 60X I purchased last year but find it hard to use. You have to hold it a certain way before you can see anything? Is there a better one, something stronger than 60X and easier to use? I’d love to hear what you all are using and some suggestions.

Do not get the carson hand held, hard to hold steady. I purchased a 60x jewelers loupe and it is a lot easier to hold steady.

Hello @Bobbi , not sure what brand this is because no markings on it. I’m guessing it came from camping section because it has a compass on the handle.

The one I have is a jeweler a loop, very tiny. I’d like one easier to see into and hold. I wouldn’t mind paying more for it if it worked better.

Jewelers loupe works for me

I was looking at some that were 100 X. Anyone tried a hands free jewelers loupe glasses?

I bought one on Amazon similar to GW’s, mine has lights too. I lined up the jewelers lens to the lens on my phone and took pics so I could examine them better (my eyes suck too!). I was surprised how well that worked because you can zoom even more on the pic (see pics under my latest post).

I ordered the Carson MicroBrite Plus 60x-120x Power LED Lighted Pocket Microscope (MM-300) today, 1,010 people have order it. The ratings were good and priced at $10.39, can’t beat the price. Hopefully that’ll help me spot any future problems. I’m a tad paranoid at the moment. Once you have mites it’s hard to get rid of them, sometimes I’m wondering if it’s just black dirt. I would love to see good photos of the different kinds of pests that can attack our plants and what to look for. I did some research but didn’t see exactly what I’m looking for. Can anyone direct me to photos? Another question, if the leaves are not spotted but you still see little black specks, could they still be mites or just dirt? What are the first signs of mites. Do you all inspect your plants daily?

I’m constantly rubbing my sanitized fingers (gently of course) on the leaves whenever I see something odd. During my grow last year, I was squishing bugs (by hand) for about 3 weeks straight during veg time. By the time I switch to flowering they were all gone. I have no idea what they were. All I know is they were invading so they needed to get squashed!
