What is this attachment on this Can-Lite Carbon Filter?

Hey Folks,

I cannot for the life of me work this out. I was watching how Derek Gilman drys his flower in his garage and noticed he was using a carbon filter and it had some attachment on the top of it. He said is a Can-lite Carbon Filter. I need to hurry up and buy something like this for the garage as my wife will go nuts if there is any smell. Problem is I can find no information on what fan to put on top of the Can-Lite Carbon Filter to make it work. I will only have one plant to dry at the moment and three others at some point.

From the photo can anyone please tell me how I get that attachment so I can have this freestanding Carbon filter system in my garage too.

Any help here would be really appreciated as I need to really hurry up and order one before harvest time as my wife is already not happy about it so I need have no smell so she won’t even notice.

Thanks in advance,

Daniel

You need an inline style fan to move the air through the filter. Make sure to match fan and filter size. Larger filter for larger harvest.

It looks like a typical fan assembly attached and then the whole thing just sitting on the floor.

Any large carbon air scrubber would work too

Problem is I cant find where to buy the attachment that fits the filter. I found this website but doesnt seem to sell the fan attachment only the filter. I am trying to deliver to Spain.

Determine the inlet size of the filter. Any fan with the same ducting size will work.

Here is an Amazon link to a 4" fan as an example:
Amazon.com : iPower 4 Inch 195 CFM Inline Duct Exhaust Air Vent Booster Ventiliation Blower for Grow Tent, Attic, HVAC, Basements or Kitchens, Low Noise, 4’’ Fan Quiet, Black : Patio, Lawn & Garden

Thise fans are available for every canister type carbon filter size that I have seen. The brand of the fan you choose is not important. The CFM capacity and the duct size are all that you really need to worry about.

The green thing you’re referring to as an attachment is an exhaust fan.

This four inch fan would fit the size of the can lite I linked in the previous post? I am not sure how you found the size. A lot of the websites only have mÂł and not the size of what the fan should be

I did not say that this fan would fit. I posted that as an example. You must find the size of the filter that you want to use and get a fan with the same duct size. The size you want is the diameter of the duct fitting. The volumetric flow rate is not the specification that you need.

i have just been getting lost on spanish websites trying to find matches. I found one website that has can filters and can fans so hopefully tomorrow when customer service is open I will find a match. Thanks for your help

It appears to be a 6 inch inline fan

I looked at their WEB site using the link in your post. They sell fans as well as filters and a great many other related products. They should be able to assist you in mating a fan to a filter.

Heyo - my two cents - AC Infinity has a charcoal filter that’s pretty beefy and the exhaust fan hooks right up to it. To boot, cheaper than the one you have posted above. Not saying it’s better. That I don’t know. But I love stuff that’s made to be integrated and doesn’t involve hunting down the right parts. I run a 6” diameter exhaust fan with a 6” diameter filter with a removable cover for washing. I have a 2x4x6 tent.

@NewbieWazowski thanks for the suggestion. I had considered AC infinity. I discovered them from Home Grow TV on YouTube. I found they are less availabile around here so I found a local place that matched a fan and filter for me.
