what is more important the ph of soil or ph of water. If my soil ph is too high will a lower ph water be ok to use, or should both the soil and water be the same ph
It’s important to ph Water going in at proper levels. As long as you aren’t seeing issues with your ladies then runoff ph is not as important. Just keep PHing your water properly, it’s not a good idea to try to increase or decrease ph runoff by raising or lowering ph going in.

Welcome @tom121956
I’ve been using the Hydroponic Aqua method for a year and from my experience and research have found that; pH varies throughout the day and stage the plant is in.
And this is normal to some degree. As long as you stay within a range so your plants can take in the nutrients it needs.
As far as your question I would suppose both are equally important. You’ll need to know your substrate pH before doing any kind of adjustment.
For a hydroponic Aqua grow you can drain your pots and then add fresh water that has been properly pH’d for your grow.
For a soil grow you can flush your soil with properly pH’d water.
There are also Flushing agents you use to clean your pots of built up salts to during your flush.
Might I add that if you are having pH issues and need to flush due to lockout. You might also consider foiler feeding during the flush process.
Some basic pH guidelines:
Welcome Tom

My soil was testing at 6.4-6.6 My water is 5.8 I am on well water, i take the water prior to my water softening system, so im using ground water.
