Hello looking for some advice I am looking what best type of led light for my grow space for my auto flowers I have a 600 hsp on a digital ballast but temps getting high now am in uk could someone give me some advise on what the best ones to look for thanks
@lastgasp2 I am also in the UK and I use HLG. I have just bought two rspec QB260s from them for my 8x4 tent and I will be buying another 3 when I can. The difference between the 600w HPS and the 260s is night and day. I have the led boards on one side and the HPS on the other and can’t wait to make the switch completely. Both John and Sean are brilliant to deal with and delivery was super quick
What are the yields like of them mate got told there not as good as hsp but u don’t really know if they k ow what there talking about who dose them light u r in about thanks
Hi mate what are the yields like of them and how do I go about getting one thanks
Thats a super loaded question! How much money do you have to spend?
I might want to add that lights are but 1 part of the equation. You need a light timer, fans and controller, carbon filter, ec pen, ph pen, ph up and down, possibly a humidifier, de humidifier, maybe a heater for winter starts depending on light used? Fertilizers unless you are into organics. The list goes on depending on the grow technique. Perhaps you can fill us in on that bit?
Dave… sorry to be a buzz kill. But im pretty sure that email is against policy (even if it aint urs) i maybe wrong tho. Just put a space in there to break the link n ur fine.
I vote the new style LED’s as well. @dbrn32 is the light doc n can help ya a bit. Otherwise look into @Davyg’s recommendation. I promise u wont be disappointed.
Also as @Cannabian stated… there’s alot more into growing then lights (lights happen to be the most expensive and difference making of the lot IMHO). Lets hear about the setup
My 2 HLG 260xl rspec I got like 2 lbs off my last crop. Not much but I will make it work. Before my HLG lights i didn’t hit more than 3.32 oz dried, cured and no stems.
@PurpNGold74 thanks for the heads up. I’ve deleted the post and will repost with a space in the link. It’s actually the sales email for HLG here in the uk but don’t want to fall foul of the admins ![]()
@lastgasp2 here’s their email address just give them a shout. Tell them what size space you have and they will advise from there. As for yield, I have a 600 watt HPS alongside my qbs and the the HPS side is getting left behind. Theres easily 6 inches of a difference in height alone. First chance I get I am swapping to LEDs. My plan is to have 5 QB260s in my 8x4 tent, all rspec
. I think they’re based in the West Midlands but delivery is lighting quick. Take the spaces out of the link or get it from hlg website

@dbrn32 is the clear winner on lighting here. I spent a gillion billion dollars on a light I could have built that would have been equally capable for 5/8 the price. Thats a fair chunk of change for a 4 hour max build! Given we are talking 1500 Canadian here after import and devaluation of the Canadian peso! Alas Im very happy with my fixture. Honestly, there are a few things you can sorta cheap out on… lights aint one of them. Another go to piece of kit is a dual controller such as the inkbird 2 work outlet, its super useful and reasonably priced.
Whats the best light is always gonna have a hlg mention , but honestly the way to ask the question. Is what is the best light set up for your personal budget. Because if budget isn’t a issue there’s some major league lighting set ups. Also what size of an area are you going to be using , will also be a factor.
Very well put my friend. Im seeing u pop around n u gets quotes for that bit of info. Good work
