Weird discoloration?

What could this discoloration be? Should I be concerned? They’re both auto flowers the one with the discoloration is Froot Fuel from speedrun seeds, the other one is Banana Purple Punch from fast buds. They have both been getting the same water and nutrients. Fox farm trio , cal mag and silica. Not sure why it’s changing colors and the other isn’t. Thanks in advance!

Bump up cal mag. You are showing interveinal chlorosis. Indicates a C def.

The yellow between the veins indicates magnesium deficiency, calcium is usually close behind. Hit em with cal mag. First though, have you done a flush by the FF schedule?

I was thinking the same. Calcium is brown spots. Defo magnesium.

Thanks, no I haven’t done the flush I just give them PH’d water with cal mag and silica every other feeding. I’m just confused why the other plant isn’t showing any symptoms.

You are spot on, one usually follows the other! He has yellow leaf edges also which can be potassium deficiency also, that’s why I asked about flushing the FF , they are salty.

So would you recommend holding off on the nutes and just doing cal mag for awhile? Thanks again.

If youre in soil, then a tablespoon of agricultural epsom will suffice

Yes I’m in soil. I don’t have agricultural epsom but I do have cal mag

Ive only used cal mag way back in the day, but i would add a dose when watering and wait a week and watch new growth. You dont wanna over do the calcium.

Thanks so just hold off on the nutes ?

How much cal-mag do you use per gallon and how often? Do you happen to know your soils current ph? I wonder if you’re beginning to show a ‘lock-out’? Also you have a bunch of 3 fingered fans, is she a clone or from seed? Just curious

I use 5ml cal mag per 1 gallon of water. I feed them cal mag every time I water. It’s a seed from speedrun seeds called froot fuel. Not sure the soils PH as I don’t have a soil pH reader

That’s exactly how much you’re supposed to be using so she’s probably not deficient. But if your soils ph has tanked it coild be unavailable currently. You absolutely need a ph pen for this hobby. Also are you familiar with charts like these?

Depending on your medium your ideal #’s are here.

Also plan on purchasing something along these lines.

To figure out your soils ph you would use something like a saucer under your plants container to gather the runoff. The runoff, leftover solution or plain water will give you an idea of what’s available to your plant. Super important to stay in your mediums ph range.

Thanks, I’ve been growing for a few years and never had an issue like this. I’m familiar with the charts. I use FF ocean forest medium. I PH my water to 7. I’ll check the run off PH tomorrow after watering. The only thing I can think of is the bag of soil I used for this specific plant was a little old. The other plant had newer soil.

Soil is ideally 6.5 fyi ok.

Ffof often has a ph fall off in flower. Lime dust will help bring it back up along with several other things you can use. If your runoff has crashed down to the 5’s it would explain your situation.

Look at what’s unavailable below 6

You can collect runoff for a general idea of ppm and ph, but you can get a more accurate reading by doing whats called a soil slurry. Look at you tube for an instructional video. Whats your watering schedule like? Are you drench to nearly drought?

Thanks I’ll check it out . I water every 2 to 3 days splitting about 3/4 of a gallon between the 2 plants. They are in 3 gallon fabric pots.
