Can anyone tell if these are ready lots of brown pistils, i have a jewelers loop and handheld microscope but i cannot tell if trichomes are cloudy or amber or what, wedding cake photos can be ready in 8 weeks, can anyone tell from pics?
Very few would argue with a close inspection that you’re not in ‘the window’. Common answer will be wait 2 wks. Beautiful buds bud!!
Eight weeks of flowering time, or 8 weeks from seed?
Ok not goog news because these leaves at bud site are browning ,drying and breaking to the touch, maybe I’ll kick my light intensity back to 50% at 75
It is normal end-of-life fade and nothing to be worried about if you have your basics in check.
9 weeks from the day i flipped to 12/12 photoperiod, you saying some plants look like that 8 weeks from seed
Ok thanks i trust your judgment
Not saying that at all. It is a common assumption among many new growers that the metric is time from seed rather than time in flowering. Time in flowering is the metric that matters.
If you are 8 weeks from the start of flowering, then it should be ready in another week or 2.
I drop my light the last 2 weeks ish down to like 32-35 DLI.
I harvested my Afghan Autos at 9 weeks since flower.
Never flipped.
Harvested early (better than no harvest).
Other issues necessitated chop, before serious bud stack/building.
Working our issues with Bugs (spider Mites) and Nutes.
Amber pistils is good, but Amber and retracted pistils is better (more developed).
Partial harvest is my preferred harvest method.
Take some, leave some.
Looking frosty for sure!
Get a jewelers loupe with an LED overnighted to you. Hold that in front of your phone
I’ll give that a try tomorrow
You could grab a usb/bluetooth microscope off amazon for pretty cheap. I find it a lot easier than trying to hold the loupe in front of the phone. Plus you get to play around with it in the off season
I have 3 of them and i dont find them to be that easy to use either, i have 3 because i didn’t think first 2 were working but it was caused by my vpn being on
Zkittles auto at 9 weeks flower. We are planning on chop on the 14th. Still seeing a few clear ones. This is with a mounted scope, fans off, zoomed to an interior of one of the colas.
I use a microscope stand about $20 from amazon, cut off a small piece of bud so you get a nice clear pictures
I have a few stands one usually comes with scope, that would solve my problem of getting a nice clear pic of trichomes i cant get myself to cut off a piece of bud
Same here. I stack some stuff in the tent and have and old stand to put the scope/light on.
You’ll never miss it
I usually cut a piece from about 4" down then a lower one depending on size of the plant
Also this allows you to check the bottom and inside of the buds for more information on trichome ripeness
Then you leave it sit out overnight for a fast dry and you can test it in a one hitter bat
At least that’s what I do
