Ph balanced water to 6.5 but no nutrients as I was advised the organic soil I got would need them. These were once very healthy, nothing has changed, do I need to start feeding them?
IMO the leaf curl (Claw) is a sign of too much Nitrogen, but what is the drainage like are they retaining water? The surface looks dry but water retention at the bottom could be starving the roots from O2 if it’s too wet, and has similar looks when they’re drowning. Cannabis roots like to breath. The middle looks dry maybe and the left looks normal. Stick your finger down 2 inches if its wet don’t water.
I use an Airpot that allows self root pruning in smaller containers which makes the plant think its in a larger one, and with all of the holes around the edges and bottom they are never over watered (but anything is possible if you try hard enough). https://air-pot.us/hydro/use/
FWIW, I use Fox Farm (Happy Frog) potting soil and Big Grow (lightly) for vegetation growth, then Big Bloom (Bat Guano Organic) for flower stage.
Need to get the pots up on some elevators and slow your watering frequency down. Add a day between watering.
Thanks so much for your responses, I was only watering them 1 cup of Ph balanced water every 2-3 days, but they started to look like this and I gave them a proper soak until I saw water in the saucers right after I took thos photo. I’m worried about the rust coloured tips of the leaves, what can I do about nitrogen levels? The soil is 30% perlite but added some extra soil on top to cover up the peat seedling pots I buried them in, so it’s not obvious from the photos that there’s a good amount of perlite. Could it be from under watering?
Judging by the the dark green leaves with leaf clawing is nitrogen excess as @middlechamber stated. Underwatering also looks to be an issue. They’re big enough to water thoroughly. Water to runoff and lift the pots to get an idea of weight. Once the pot is light again it’s time to water again. My cycle is about every 5 to 7 days.
If the nitrogen toxicity isn’t addressed it will cause the plants to grow all sorts of weird. Here’s an example.
This was a clone from this plant.
It grew totally different.
Do you have a ppm meter to test the runoff water. That will give you an idea of where the plant is at. Should be below 2000 ppm.
Also what kind of soil are you using?
