Should I do another soil slurry tonight would those numbers help any, or just wait and get run off numbers tomorrow or Fri when it dries out. Also I want to thank you for all your input it is very much appreciated, I need all the help I can get. Here’s a pic of what they look like today. The yellowing seems to have slowed down since yesterday but still got a few turning.
All in they look great and you’re on the issue if you can even call it that. Just a sign their hungry. If tomorrow or Friday is a feed day then I would go in 1/4 strength of the trio and to 20-30% run off and collect a sample after about 1/2 to full cup has drained out. The Big Bloom doesn’t need to be used too often. The Grown Big and Tiger Bloom cover your base nutrients. Calmag on water days and to run off 20%. Doing this will help with root zone issues from unused salts from the fertilizer.
Watered this morning they were real dry, watered to 20% or more run off, 1/4 FF trio. water PH 6.52 PPM 727, My water is jacked up. Going to get a filter.
run off numbers were Mary-PPM 1.53, PH 6.02, Crystal- PPM 1.69, PH 5.91, Lucy- PPM 2.36, PH 5.75,
Juanita- PPM 1.86, PH 5.85, and Jane-PPM 1.94, PH 5.80, Don’t think I could have waited another day to water they looked thirsty this morning.
sure these are your EC numbers which equates to 800 or so on this one. If so you’re in great shape. Bumped that up to 1000 or an EC of 2.0 on your next feeding. Well done Growmie
need to get that PH in a range of 6.5-6.8
Tester was set on TDS PPM for those numbers, how do I get the numpers up.
PPMs or PH. Assuming both? Mix your Grow Big And Tiger bloom at 1/4 strength and check the PPMs. If your run off was 800 and you want a 1000, your nutrient mix should be 1200 PPMS. This 1200 averaged with the 800 gets you the 1000. Seeing as you’re a little out of PH range, I would feed at 6.8-6.9. Test the run off on this. Soil PH and stabilization can also be achieved by top dressing some dolomite lime but it’ll take some time. The best future advice I can offer is to switch to coco and Jacks 321. With coco it’s feed daily and always the same proportions except seedling stage
Thanks again, I going to get this sooner or later. Hope I’m not bugging you with all my questions.
Never Growmie, this community is a great place to learn! Started here with indoor growing in Dec 2020 and several cultivators coached me through my 1st grow
I was just mixing tomorrows feed and have a few questions, based on the run off numbers from the last watering do I find a happy medium for the 5 plants or should I be mixing 5 different gallons of water, it went from 1.53,1.60,1.86,1.94 & 2.36. the PPM in my nut water is 794 right now with 1/4 FF GB & TB no cal mag, how do I get that up to where I need it, do I bring that up with nuts ?
These I would mix the same.
look good and the same
PH water and Calmag no nutrients
Thank you, So 1.53 & 1.60 going in @ 1200 ppm, 1.86 & 1.94 going in @ 1050ppm, 2.36 what do I do here my tap water will be around 590 ppm with no cal or nutes.
Yep that’s pretty high and needs to be factored in to your PPMs. A lot of growers on here are mixing tap and RO or distilled with tap TDS this high to get that around 200-300.
Pretty sure that’s were I made my mistake that started this issue, when I was adding and not combining I thought I knew what I was doing and mixed a batch of dist & tap to 325 for all and should have been feeding, I have a filter in my Amazon cart going to order today and get that straightened out, water is terrible in Southern AZ. Super thanks again.
Noticed a little browning on a couple of the flowers is this due to low nutes or do I have a light problem, I turned down the light to 435 par for now was at 500. I have noticed some growth but it did slow down
Nice job on cutting your tap water, with a TDS that high you’re probably safe with calcium and magnesium. I would continue to monitor the run off PPMS and PH. Keep using the Grow Big and Tiger bloom. Both have your nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus that’s needed particularly the Tiger bloom for the flowering stage and the needed nitrogen. Personally I would mix a gallon at 1/4 for the Grow Big and 1/2 strength on the Tiger bloom and check the PPMs and shoot for 1100 plus your tap. Knowing how high your water source TDS is I think you’ll be safe at around 1400 PPMS
Your girls are looking good!
Watered 4-21, had to mix at all most full dose 2-3 tsp per gal of each to get the ppms up to 1100, I was afraid that was to much but they seem to be doing ok , still got a lot of leaves turning yellow. I think I got this tester figured out, correct me if I am wrong, the conductivity setting is the EC range and per A under unit conversion I get how that is figured, I think what I been doing wrong when taking the PPM reading is when It was reading 1.2 in the TDS/PPT and thinking that was EC and PPM of 600, when it is really 1200 PPM per the conversion chart. also I was on the 0.71 setting and now 0.5., with all that being said, my run off for the last watering was, Crystal 1.85 PPT PH, 5.69- Juanita 1.60 PPT PH 5.65 -Mary 1.71PPT PH 5.70 -Lucy 1.72 PPT PH 5.86 - Jane 1.62 PPT PH 5.58. so if I am looking at this correctly shouldn’t the PPM for 1.85 be 1850ppm per the conversion chart or am I still confused.
that’s the number I came up with. For mixing nutrients you take your previous run off numbers and adjust for the 1100. Example run off is 800 I mix nutes at 1200 to get me a 1000. Once you have this in check it becomes a routine with the same mixing, PH and feeding to run off
So with my run off being as high as 1850 ppm would this be a cal mag ph 6.9 no nutes feed or should I still be adding grow big and Tiger bloom.
