Weed smell even with the carbon filter

Which side of the filter is your inline fan on? I pull air through the filter out the fan. If filter is on the other side of the fan the cover off the filter must be removed. Depends if you are pulling air through filter or pushing air out of the filter.
Mine vents into my laundry room with little to no odor.

I too do the same. I just put dryer sheets where my 4” inline attaches to the flex duct. I am also going to re route my duct

If your exhaust fan is running, you have negative pressure. (Unless you’re pumping air in at a higher rate than the exhaust is venting it.) It isn’t necessary, or even desirable, to have so much vacuum that the sides of your tent are sucked in.

Dryer sheets may mask the odor, but it would be better to absorb it in the filter.

How old is your 4" carbon filter?

I am sorry but I just can’t believe this at all and that others have the problem too. And using dryer sheets to fix it just blows my mind.

I hope it works and solves your problem :+1:

I thought your filter was on the outside of your tent. I would have put them inside the filter if mounted outside of tent.

Wondering if the dryer sheets will also absorb moisture an raise rh in tent.

We will see. I just tried this last night. Stay tuned

Will the dryer sheets inside the tent have an effect on the taste of the bud? Seems to me like it would absorb so unsavory smell. If the filter was outside the tent I’d imagine it would be just fine.

If the fan is pulling air thru the filter you should put dryer sheets on the fan or tube that is exhausting the air.

I get some smell as too even with carbon filter. Try Ona you can buy it on amazon. Don’t put it in your tent or near your intake. You just open the bucket and its scented gel but it is strong and covers the smell very well. You can also buy a little fan that sits on top of bucket to help the scent travel around.

Yeah, be very careful with that stuff. Wouldn’t even put it in the same room or near the room with your plants. Its not a cover scent it actually traps smells and can mess up your buds.

I wouldn’t put dryer sheets in the tent either. I put them around my tent once on the outside. My buddy told me my buds smelled like perfume.

It appears your 4" carbon filter is 8" long. Is that right? Who’s the manufacturer and how old is it?

Can air from your crawl space enter the house?

This looks cool to make… prob will clean the whole room with ease.

I plan to put these over my carbon filter/fan duct opening, where the air blows out, along with wrapping a GAIN scent dryer sheet fan duct opening. So when the fan blows out the smell through the duct, it will be filtered by the gain dryer sheet and the carbon covering. This way there is no smelly dryer sheets in the tent.

Some plants are just plain smelly and all the carbon in the world doesn’t help. I had a 3 day old MK ultra seedling and I could smell it from the other side of the house. Seriously, this thing was 2 inches tall and had 2 sets of tiny leaves and it stank. It was only 2 feet tall when it flowered and my neighbor could smell it even though it was sealed in a room with a carbon filter, and the house was closed up. OMG it stank. Been keeping low odor plants since then.

They tend to smell more when the weather is warm and when they are well watered. Mine didn’t smell as bad when the potting mix was dry and the smell was much less at temperatures in the low 20s Celsius and got bad at temps in the 30s C. They smell worse during the day when photosynthesizing compared to when the lights are out. They have smell cycles where they smell bad for a few hours then don’t smell as bad for a few then they stink again. This cycle happens during the day when there is light.
