Carbon filters/ smell or no?

I have tried several, currently using AC infinity’s carbon filter. I have smell everytime about 6 weeks into flower. My intakes on the bottom and vents through carbon filter on the top of my tent. I don’t have any flaps or zippers open. I don’t know what gives.
I don’t have a problem with it… but the wife does so 3 times a year from several weeks I’m getting the business.
I want some honest opinions on what options are out there.
If you smell your tent even a little don’t make a recommendation pls.

I had that issue, until I put duct tape over the fan to filter junction. That seemed to help.

I suppose duct tape for the wife 3-4 times a year might also work… Use this method at your own risk.

I’m about to grow plants that I know gives her allergies, but I do love her. I’m seriously just sick of it, she did give me a decent budget to find something that will actually work if there is something.
Soooo now I hunt
I do have all the filter junctions taped with nice duct work tape

Maybe increase the exhaust rate? Any way the filter can be in the tent, and the exhaust outdoors?

Oh, and is the filter inside the tent and air being sucked into it, or outside of the tent with air being pushed out of it?

I wish I could vent outdoors.my tent butts up to a window next to my elderly neighbors who complained constantly. My wife got him to agree not to drown trapped squirrels in a trash can Infront of the family if I pull the vent. :joy::rofl::joy::rofl:
I was wondering…
A 55 gallon metal trash can with one million small holes filled with carbon would work?
The filter is in the tent I’m running the fan @ a 7 I think it’s an ac infinity as well

The issue with the drum I think, would be airflow. If it were packed with carbon, it might restrict your exhaust too much. Perhaps a 2nd carbon filter on the exhaust would suffice, but I think either way you will need to crank the fan up to compensate for flow restriction.

Or maybe if that 55 gallon drum were simply filled with charcoal briquettes, it would minimize smell, and allow airflow…

How big is tent?

Would be cheap to try. And it might work well.

How big is the filter and how often do you replace it?

Might be even cheaper than a carbon filter rebuy over and over.

Good luck. Let us know what finally works!

6 inch ac infinity in a 5x5 currently buy brand new the last two grows but it’s not working.

This I will…it might be a cheap hack in the long run. Charcoal is cheap and so are cans.

Same system i use in a 2x4x6 tent. 8 inch may be required in that size tent. Maybe the current filter is overwhelmed. What do others use in that tent size??(open question)

I use an Ac infinity tent and this was the recommendation they gave me when I went from cheap fans over to their fans. We also discussed smell and is one of the reasons I tried their carbon filters. Still a No for smell
