Watering from the tray

So back with another question I have seen a lot of people that water their plats from the top of the soil allowing it to then be pulled down through the pot but what about if I were to put the water in my run off try and allow the plant to soak up and absorb the water rather than pouring the water over the top of the soil it seems like it would be a lot quicker way of watering my plants than to sit there for an hour plus with a sprayer any cons vs pros from anyone or does anyone water there plants like this I get it wouldn’t be the best option as far as collecting runoff but as far as the collection of runoff I don’t see any other issues of water the plant like this

You may want to look into sub irrigated planter. Autopots work well and have a offsite reservoir to maintain proper ph and nutrients levels along your grow

I have no interest in switching pots I use 5 gallon fabric pots I honestly just want to know if this is a safe method of water my girls rather than watering normally by pouring water over the the top of the soil and letting it run through the pot

You don’t have to switch your pot to utilize this method.

A tray and a res would do you just fine. What I’m saying is you should look at the design they use.

If your asking if it will work, the answer is yes it will using a bottom feed system.

If your asking if you can top feed and allow it to sit in the tray, the answer is NO

Absolutely you can bottom feed. The one downfall is if you like to check runoff. I suppose you could finish with a top feed to try and pull some runoff.
