Verify if this looks like a Soil PH Issue

What method is best used to check PH in soil. My Skywalker OG is growing straight up tall. Not real leafy and color of leaves are ver light green.

Any suggestions are appreciated

Long time no see y’all!

Wow, that plant had a rough life, you can tell because it’s stuck on making 3 finger leaves and no branching. Do you have a digital ph meter? Whats the low temp at nights?

Also looks like you have pests, like leaf miners and possibly others. I would not count on seeing much if any bud from this plant, it’s all kinds of jacked up.

Best way to check the PH of your soil is to do a runoff test. Water with PH’ed water until it starts runningnout if planter/pot/grow bag. After it runs for a few seconds, collect some runoff in clean cup. You can now check the PH level of your soil and the amount of nutrients by using a TDS meter. That will tell you if you are overfeeding, underfeeding or feeding the right amount.

The medium also looks very dry and lacking any substance, looks like straight up dirt dug out of a back yard.

Thanks for getting back to me. The soil is from my compost boxes. I have two. The soil looks dry however just under the surface the soil is moist. Soil drys out on top of grow sack everyday being in the sun all day. I purchased a PH meter since your response and the PH of the soil registered on the meter almost just past 7 or the soil is some high in alkaline. Now need to figure out hot to lower. Thanks for your help.

If this is one of those under $10 3-in-1 devices, throw it out and get a real meter: those are worthless. You need something more like this:

Yeah, sounds like you got something like this, which seems to always say 7.something all the time, regardless of the actual pH.

When you really need something like what Myfriendis410 posted.

I purchased a cheap PH meter. I’m growing in grow sacks outdoors. Indeed I will purchase a good digital PH meter. The cheap one I have did give a reading of 7.4

@Myfriendis410 long time no see. Jus started a new grow!

Welcome back! I’ll look forward to your antics this year haha!

@Myfriendis410. All about trial and error. I’ve gotten a way better understanding on how these plants should be dosed with nutrients. She’s in the ground this year. No mo green house

When you get a proper pH meter, take 2 tablespoons of soil from about midway in the pot. Mix in a container with 3oz of distilled or RO water. Mix really well, let sit for 15-20 min, then test pH with meter. This is called a “slurry test” and will give a fairly accurate reading of soil pH.
