Day 73 since soak, 44 since flip.

On @aPotforPot 's advice, I only watered 3 pints this time. The Jacks 321 I ordered should be be here Saturday. We’ll see how it goes.

@Mags51 Yours are looking really good. Do you regret trying to grow two plants in the small tent? I’m thinking of trying two 2 gallon pots myself on my next grow.

Watered this time 3 pints with about 1/2 strength Jacks 321 and a touch of Honey. Let’s see if that perks her up.

Not at all. It took some serious LST to get them to fit the space well and was able to get about 4 big buds per plant to grow. I’ll see what the total yield is when I harvest in a couple weeks, but I suspect I’ll be close to what I was hoping for (about 4-5 ounces). Already dropped 2 more seeds for my next round.

I think if I was only growing a single strain, I may have stuck with one plant in a big pot… but I like a little variety, so will stick with 2.

79 days since soak, 50 since flip. Couldn’t really tell if the Jacks I fed her last time helped much, so today I just went with 3 pints of water with a teaspoon of honey. I’ll probably give her more Jacks next time.

Here’s a closeup of what’s happening with some of the leaves. I took this pic after I’d already trimmed off a lot of the browned stuff.

And here’s a bud pic from my microscope. Gonna guess at least three weeks before I even start thinking harvest.

Any further advice on getting my girl home all fat and happy?

have you checked run off for ph and ppms yet?

No, I haven’t gotten a meter for that. I figured I didn’t need it using the APotforPot soil mix and bottled purified drinking water. Besides, even when I was over-watering with 6 pints every three days, I’ve never gotten any runoff.

as this is your first grow, you can get away with anything you want to get by. but i think you might want to go thru the grow bible and see what it says about watering. when i first started 4 grows ago i was using and still use supersoil. i was told that i didn’t need a ppm meter because i didn’t have to check run off. but i was using well water that ran thru a brita pitcher water filter for the first two and just well water for the next two. 5 weeks into flower my leaves started turning yellow. and it got worse when i didn’t use the filter. on my last grow i had two tents one about a month ahead of the other. if this is going to be a “one-shot” and you are not going to grow again then you don’t need a ppm meter. if you are going to be serious about growing then you need both a ph meter and a ppm meter (TDS). i now use RO water and i’m trying to save my plants in the second half of my grow. the first half of my grow the plants did not get thru flowering and all the leaves turned yellow. i have now deduced that i had nutrient lock out on my first half after i bought a ppm meter and started checking run off for both ph and ppm. i had 7.4ph on the runoff and 2800 ppm. the runoff needs to be 6.7 or less or the plant will not take the nutes. yes, i still got pot from the first half, but not great pot. i am hoping to get the ph straightened out for the second half of the grow. the ph for runoff is around 6.6ph and plants are doing a lot better. no matter if you use RO water or not, the soil builds up salts that need to be washed away. that is why most suggest to water to 20% runoff so that you can get rid of the salts. i am watering now at 5.5ph trying to get the runoff back under 6.5ph and it is taking me 4 or 5 waterings and it still is a battle i’m fighting trying to get the second half of the grow to finish properly.

start at line 824 and look at the pics of the first half and read what i went thru trying to finally get this stuff figured out. but this is why i questioned you early in your thread about your watering schedule and practices.

this is from the ILGM grow bible

and an important thing to remember about growing pot. " you have to do what the plant wants, not what you want"

by my estimation, you are 6 weeks into flowering. you probably have 2 to 4 more weeks before the plant is ready for chop, but watching the trichomes will give you a better idea on that. the stuff i gave you is for future consideration. i would not change the way you are doing things now. you don’t have that much time left on this plant and you should be able to get thru to the end and have real good, or great bud to smoke.

Day 85 from soak, 56 from flip.

On August 6, I watered 3 pints with half-strength Jacks.
Today, I trimmed quite a few browned leaves, and only watered 2 pints of just water. Hard to tell if watering less and adding the Jacks and honey is helping very much. The colas don’t seemed to have grown much comparing today’s pic from six days ago.

Getting less browning, but now the fan leaves are drooping. I hope it’s just all part of the bud-building process.

Trichomes still look all clear to me. I was hoping she’d be ready to harvest by the 21st (time of the full moon; I’ve read that’s the best time to chop), but looks like it might be a week or two after that.

Same thing happened to me. Seemed like the last 2-3 weeks of flowering were just watching the plant eat itself as the buds matured. Bud growth was done about week 6-7 and last two weeks were just buds turning amber and the plant turning yellow. Harvested 1 plant last week and got a nice 6 oz off of it. Will be harvesting the second one this weekend.

All the fan leaves turning brown and crispy. Should I do anything else or just keep going as I am till the end?

Trics still seem perfectly clear to me, no signs of amber yet.

Still just doing two pints of straight water every three days. The buds seem to be fattening fairly nicely now. I’m just starting to see the slightest of amber in the trics, so I’m really hoping to chop next week.

This pic is from three days ago. I’m seeing a bit more amber in them today. For some reason my microscope won’t let me take, store or transfer pics to my PC today ::man_shrugging:
What y’all think? A week till chop?

the pic is too small for me to see trichs well. but from what i can tell right now it looks like mostly cloudy with some clear. i don’t see enough amber to claim 10% so at least a week. i would keep checking the trichs every 3 or 4 days to keep track. it could be another couple weeks though which would be nice as the buds really bulk up the last couple of weeks.

106 days from soak; 77 from flip. Gave her the usual 2 pints of straight water today.

And here’s a couple microscope pics from as close as I can get. I’m seeing a small to decent amount of amber in the trics now. Tentatively scheduled to go dark this weekend and chop next Monday. What y’all think?
