Using essential oils in humidifier for pest control

I am wanting to be as preventive as possible when it comes to pests.

I have Captain Jack’s dead bug spray, but I don’t think that is a preventive.

I have neem oil but I’m scared to use it on my plants, even though I’m not flipping for a few more days. I use it to spray on my ducting filters and screens.

I recently bought a diffuser and some essential oils and was wondering if I could put some tea tree oil in my humidifier water. Tea tree oil is supposed to repell bugs.

Do you think this would help or hurt my plants?

I’m interested in any other suggestions on preventive pest methods.

I hear about lady bugs all the time, but I’ve seen no pests as of yet and don’t want dead lady bugs in my buds.

I have a bunch of preying mantis egg sacs also. I’m pretty sure they would work while their nymphs. Has anyone ever used them before?

An once of prevention is worth a ton of eradication.

For f sakes be proactive! The BEST advice I can give anyone seriously.

Not sure that would be a good way to go. Bad for the humidifier. Residue on plants
.etc. Growers Ally has a sample bottle of their trifecta for 10.00. Use once every couple weeks. Makes a gallon
Spray on at lights out.

Just my thoughts.

:stop_sign: I would absolutely not :stop_sign: use any essential oils in a humidifier if it’s inside your tent anywhere near your plants. It will get into your buds and your weed will taste like whatever fragrance your essential oil is. You can take that to the bank for sure.

The biggest problem that your going to have is spraying any oil all over your tent or room…
Literally everything is going to start sticking to everything…
This is a very bad practice…
Spraying your plants in the dark time will be no harm…
Do it under green light… cfls preferably…
For a heavy infestation , use 2 oz of pure neem oil to 1 gallon of water with 5 drops of dawn dish soap…
For prevention purposes, 1 oz of pure neem oil to 1 gallon of good water and 5 drops of dawn dish soap…
Heavy bug infestation once a week and for prevention, every 2 weeks…
Make sure to get under all leafs with a upward motion while spraying…

Regarding Captain Jack’s, is it ok to use for indoor grows because the bottle says for outdoor residential use only.

Ive never used captain jacks dead bug…
But ive seen people give it good reviews…
Im a water only grower , so i have zero bug issues…
Once in a blue moon i might see a oily nat or 2 , but its because of my shoty vegg practices…
But when i was growing in soil i used neem with great results…
My plant’s loved every spraying even up to 3 weeks from chop…
With no issues as a preventive measure…
If you feel like you might taste or smell the neem , you could also use canola oil at those same ratios , its alot cheaper and no smell…
I use to use it alot outdoors when i was growing hectares of plants for super cheap back when it was only medical growing…
Think of Humboldt County…
