You fertilize using wicking pots as well. Another advantage to wicking is you can have different nutes for each plants specific needs.
I believe auto pots feeds from 1 reservoir so all plants get same.

It works the same whether wicking or using auto pot. Its like setting your plant in a puddle of water at which point the water will be drawn up into the bottom of the plant pot. The plants pot will always be hydrated the same and if you pick up the plant it will feel like it was just watered. This is very similar to hydro.

Anyway, roots dont rot because the O2 was never cut off. Root rot is caused by overwatering and choking the roots.

And if you get the airdomes and an air pump for your autopots, they REALLY take off!

I’ve heard mixed reviews on the airdromes, what size pump do you use? In the videos it was saying 1L/min which seems like a really small pump.

Mine is 38L/minute.

I’ve only used the airdomes for one grow so far, and the autopots for several. Huge difference in growth rate with the air, but came with the cost of high humidity. That may have just been my fall weather here, rain, but the tent was getting into the 90%. Turning the pump off helped a bit, but it was still high.

Pump is on now, but it’ll be tomorrow when I fill the res and turn the pots on. Just transplanted a week ago, been top feeding since.

Is it adjustable to a lower L/min? What do you run yours at and how many plants? I love my autopots, deciding whether to pick up the domes or not.

The pump, no, but the 6-valve manifold has valves for each outlet. I run 4 autopots on t, also have 1 plant in the middle in a pot being handwatered. I think I’ll buy an airstone for an aquarium for next time I do 5 plants in there! Just wrap it in landscape fabric and bury it in the bottom.

I’ll tag you on my journal. There’s 2 years of grows on it, indoor, outdoor, cellar.

@OGIncognito , I’m thinking about making the switch from my irrigation systems (Halo rings) to Auto Pots. 2-2x4 tents=2-2 pots systems, and a 5x5 that I would mostly be running 4 plants but would get a 6 plants system just in case. Do you prefer the Geo Pot systems or the original plastic pots? I probably lean towards getting the air bases and air domes with them. What are your thoughts on those?
Also what additional parts and accessories would you recommend having on hand for maintenance and repairs? It’s not uncommon for me to have to go out of town for a week to 10 days at a time, so I would likely go with 25 gallon tanks, and 1-60 gallon tank.
I would really appreciate your insight on making the switch.

This is my work life as well Brother. Definitely go with the Geo pots, better growth in my opinion. For reservoirs I still use the 13 gallon res. I mix 4-8 gallons on Sundays to last until I get home on Friday/Saturday. This amount seems to work and the largest appetites are experienced during the stretch and up to week 8ish of flower for 2 plants. 10 gallons may be needed and would recommend this due to not knowing the plants size at this stage. Definitely pick up some 3 and 4 way couplings and several shut off valves. Extra 3/8” hose and you can pick that up from amazon cheaper. You can always go the route of a 17 gallon tote for a reservoir. Forgot to mention to grab some extra fittings and filter for a DIY res….grommet and filter. The Geo set up allows you to run a 3 or 5 gallon cloth vessel so that’s a bonus :love_you_gesture:

Do any 3 or 5 gallon fabric pots work with the bases? Or do I need to use the “Auto Pot” fabric pots?

Any 3 or 5 gallon fabric bag will work :love_you_gesture:

When you say 12-16oz per plant, are you growing autos or photos?

I grow primarily autos. In 10 gallon soft bags, heavily amended soil, 1000w MH light. We put in a lot of work and it’s tough to consistently get even 5oz per.

If I could triple, it even double my yield per plant using autopots, I’m all in! I’ll be using them next grow.

I had the ACI bags for my last grows, but I used the autopot bag this time. It feels a little thinner to me so I figure give it a shot and see how the airflow and water penetration goes. So far so good!

I’m a photoperiod grower. I grow in 3 gallon fabric pots, coco/perlite, Jack’s in Autopots. My lights are home made along with the grow space.

Without giving away any secrets, about how many days seed to harvest? I realize there’s variables, but just a ballpark would do.

Hang on……we’re here to share the so called secrets lol!! Do tell!!!

I keep that stuff secret in my grow journal haha!
